This was a good basic base right under Meteora. Short walk to local tavernas (taverna Efrosino is highly recommended) & shops in the village. We had two linking rooms with own bathroom (good watre pressure in the shower), but did not use the shared kitchen apart from the fridge for bottled water. The property felt cluttered & outdated but functional & sufficient for a budget short stay, the location and price were great! The host communicated well .

Unfortunately there was no aircon (only a fan) so it felt very hot in mid Jul. WiFi did not work but we had our own internet.

Everything was perfect.

Comfortable, spacious and clean room, except the mattresses were not very comfy. Nice location in the village near Meteora monasteries.

Nothing to cook in the shared kitchen and no tea kettle. Not very comfortable mattresses. Wi fi did not work, although the owner tried to fix it.

It’s close to the main attractions - walking distance to 3 monasteries using E4 pathways - and it offers everything one needs for a comfortable overnight stay.

The wi-fi works only occasionally.

We were accepted with dog 👍 Good location... and good sound of the neighbor's rooster 🐓

it’s an authentic Greek guesthouse. The room was wide and close to the room there was a very nice terrace with a beautiful view on the meteoras. The host very helpful.

Everything was ok for a one night stay, except the WiFi , it simply did not work. Pity nowdays not to be able to provide a decent WiFi connection for simple things like, checking your booking or book another trip or etc...etc..

The mattress was terrible old and lots of springs in your back did not sleep all night bedsheets and covers where questionable (clean) and very old and thin

The host seemed like a good guy, offered us information about the local area and even a lift into the nearby town. He was quick to respond to any questions and was very efficient with communicating how to get there. The placement of the hotel was excellent for seeing Metora!

The bathroom could do with a deep clean and so could the room. A little pricey for what we ended up getting.

The location is great, it was nice to have a house for ourselves, it was very quiet and all basic amenities were there.

We were 16 people, but at first there were just 15 beds. The people who met us did not speak much English, but in the end they agreed to bring in one more bed. Otherwise, there was no communication with them, although they seemed to live right next door. The kitchen could have been a bit cleaner, but the rooms were ok.

Great place and nice host. Great price.

The bathroom was old and broken.

Location and value for money

showers a bit ordinary but that is to be expected in that part of the world

The location is great if you are walking to the monasteries and Kalambaka is only 30 min by walking. The common balcony on the top floor has a great view to the rocks.

The facilities feel a bit outdated, but functional nonetheless. The bathroom may be a bit tight if you are a big/tall person (not a problem for me haha)

In the middle of the village. Quiet place. The owner speaks very little English but tries to help.

1. The ceiling of the room is tilted, so you can hit your head with it. 2. No view of Meteora rocks from the room. Partial view of Meteora rocks from the yard or a small shared balcony. 3. You will need transportation (taxi or a car) to get to and out of the place from the bus and train stations in Kalambaka.

No traffic noise at night, great views from the balcony. Monasteries are very close. Good restaurant in walking distance.

The shower broke and one of the lights in the bathroom also. When I contacted the owners, it looked like they do not speak English actually! So nothing was fixed. And they never tried to contact me to explain why not!

Location is great, with Meteora views from balcony . Very spacious for our group of 10. Great host , we arrived later than planned and they waited for us.

lack of roof windows left it quite dark but great for evenings.

1st photo: the wall behind the beds was covered with planks, like the ceiling, and on the corner with an even darker wood not well-screwed against them, where we found spider eggs, which tells a lot about the cleanness of the room. 2nd photo: apart from the stuffy atmosphere and the dead air in the room, the window was too small, not enough light coming in, and the slopping down ceiling above the bed is not ideal if you're over 1.75, as you'll definitely bump your head. 3rd photo: same problem with the ceiling above the toilet. In general, the decoration of the room was too tacky if not invisible, and the toilet seat is part of it. Probably bought in a 1$ store, doesn't actually justify part of the money we gave. The construction of the toilet meant two parts of drywall on the corner of the room, not even painted to hide the evidence, and the free shampoo the "hotel" advertises was in our case and old BALEA 3in1 for men, long forgotten by a German tourist I suppose, as BALEA is not even a product sold in Greece but in Germany, so we had to buy shampoo as well. Thank you for that hahaha! As you can see in the photos, the linen on the beds was threadbare multi-colored for children's beds, covered by old and smelly woolen quilts and a duvet. Same with the pillows. The bed was squeaking every time we turned our body and the place has no soundproofing at all. Every time someone goes to the toilet or walks down the stairs you hear it no matter what, so NO WE COULDN'T SLEEP AT ALL! Can't go on with all the details, but the "hotel" absolutely wins THE GOLDEN RASPBERRY in every category. They offer no comfort at all, so, NO THEY DIDN'T DESERVE THE MONEY. Sorry to say that, but we have stayed in cheaper places that were far more decent than this hut magically transformed into "hotel". Nothing like the photos they serve for marketing!!!

Very friendly hosts, very responsive, and helpful. The location is perfect, and to me, kastraki is a much nicer place than kalabaka.
