Great location on the Main Street. Homely somewhat quirky look and feel with a very comfortable bed. Spacious unit. The ukulele came in handy! 😊
Not a particularly well insulated property in terms of temperature regulation and sound proofing.

We loved the superb location of Wallace Lodge — right in the centre of Braidwood and conveniently next to the Catholic Church, which was ideal for us. Cafés and shops were all within easy walking distance. Our host, Elizabeth, greeted us warmly on arrival and was very friendly, with prompt communication throughout our stay. The room was spacious and had everything we needed for a short trip.
The bath towels weren’t very absorbent, so drying off after a shower wasn’t the easiest. Because the lodge is on the main road, we could hear some noisy cars and trucks at night, though this was mostly on Sunday night, Saturday night was quite peaceful.

Very comfortable apart from lack of hot water
Pipes frozen necessitating trip to supermarket to buy water. Frozen pipes in winter in Braidwood must be a common occurrence and should be fixed or at least guests given a warning. Very inconvenient when trying to get ready for a breakfast function. A supply of water would have been appreciated.
