About this cottage rental

Castle View, Castle Bolton really does live up to its name, with views of Bolton Castle that quite literally can not be surpassed (and are only equalled by our neighbour!)
Cosy but modern,, the cottage is open plan downstairs, with kitchen area, a large dining table, sofa, chairs, wood burning stove along with a smart TV, high speed broadband and an amazon echo . The open plan nature creates a good living space.
Upstairs there are two bedrooms , one with two single beds and the main bedroom with a king size bed. The bath room upstairs is fitted with a modern walk in shower, toilet and wash basin.
There is central heating throughout plus the gorgeous wood burning stove for a relaxing quiet night in.
Outside there is an enclosed rear seating area with furniture. (stored in the outhouse). There is a bench at the front of the property looking towards Bolton Castle. Warm outside tap (for washing your 4 legged family members in comfort)

Lovely cosy cottage in superb location looking towards Bolton castle across grassy areas. Superbly equipped. Great location for exploring Dales. Close to Leyburn for supplies. Lovely views of Penhill. Wonderful Castle only 5 mins walk from cottage with nice cafe. Mary Queen of Scot's bedroom. Lovely grounds with maze. Entry fee applies.You can see the wild boars being fed at 4pm each day by the car park.

a beautiful little cottage in a lovely area. Quiet and peaceful, neighbours lovely, loved listening to the geese, curlews, pheasants and the owls at night. The only disappointing item was the bed was so hard we have both walked away with a bad back. Some people don't mind a hard bed so this is not a complaint. We certainly would go back but would take a topper with us :)

We had a lovely, comfortable stay in Castle View cottage. It was perfectly located, and the short walk to Bolton Castle and view from the front windows were fantastic. Even on rainy days we found lots to do and it was great just staying in and watching the weather with a cup of tea. Highly recommended!

The property is superb, immaculate and well equipped and furnished to a high standard. We especially appreciated the extras washing up liquid, soap in bathroom, tin foil, bin bags all items that usually are not provided and then need to be purchased and perhaps only use a small amount. The only downside was it was difficult to park over the weekend but settled down by Sunday night. Thank you for a fabulous stay 10/10

There’s not much you can fault about this property. The aspect (looking across the greens to Bolton Castle) is beautiful, the location peaceful and the cottage itself was more spacious than we had imagined. The addition of help from a friendly neighbour when we arrived was a wonderful bonus. It was clean, well maintained and superbly equipped. We were pleasantly surprised to find a large fridge-freezer when no freezer had been mentioned and indeed some older reviews had referred to a tiny “camping fridge”. A quick trip to the supermarket in nearby Leyburn remedied the lack of frozen foods we had brought with us. We had a fabulous, relaxing holiday and would love to go back again one day.

We've had to move this holiday a number of times this year due to Covid, and Anne has been really very accommodating and helpful, communicating with us at every stage of our visit. Finally managed to get away at the end of October. The cottage was wonderful, sitting at one end of castle bolton with a direct view of the castle, perfect for a cosy night in front of the log fire playing games with the family. Also, the cottage was perfectly situated for a range of walks which we did with the kids (7 and 9) - they especially liked the waterfalls which were very full during our visit. Great access to places of historic interest too - not only Bolton Castle, but driving distance to Middleham Castle too. Pubs in nearby Redmire and Carperby provided us with a few evening meals (even take away), but the facilities in the Castle View also meant we could cook after visiting one of the local market towns to gather supplies. Myself and my partner have visited the Dale's a number of times before having kids and wanted somewhere that would give them a nice introduction to the area. Castle View did not disappoint. They've woken to a view of a castle every morning, experienced walking home from the pub shining their torches in the dark, walked long distances and earned their sunday roast, and at the end of the day had a warm fire and cosy bed to snuggle into. Couldn't have asked for any more.

Small, cramped and dated. Fridge the size fit for a caravan located under the stairs and accessed only on hands and knees! No oven pan, bossy owners notes everywhere, wobbly toilet seat, one toilet roll, not even a welcoming pint of milk on arrival. Tight table next to cooker, dodgy settee. Over priced and not a lovely experience!

Wow, what can I say, this cottage is amazing. It has everything you need in the property to make it feel like a real home from home. You can tell the owners love this cottage very much. It is clean and tidy and very well decorated. It is in the most beautiful spot with miles of gorgeous walks on its door stop. The locals are very friendly and make you feel very welcome. There was so much to do we wished we had booked for longer and we will most certainly be going back. We had the pleasure of meeting Anne ( one of the owners) on the morning we left and she is lovely and took us to see some wild bore at the castle. Thank you for a lovely stay Anne and we will see you next year

Lovely cottage. Bigger than thought. Wonderfully decorated, furnished and clean throughout. Village location excellent- so quiet due to very little through traffic. Excellent views and walking opportunities from the doorstep. Will definitely want to come again.
