A real home from home, well equipped, comfortable and practical. The old chapel has everything to make your stay welcoming and memorable. You know you’ve had a good experience when your sad to pack up and leave.

This was an excellent cottage where we felt as though we were in someone's home. Generous, warm, spacious and incredibly well equipped. Oven needed cleaning (accept it won't be spotless but oven door was caked in grease, hence score). Quiet location with walks from the door. Disappointed that The George was closed on a Friday evening!

A lot of thought has gone into making this holiday cottage everything you could ask for, well done to the owners for making it as such. All in all a lovely place to stay.

There were spiders and we didn't die from them. The previous guests' comments on such things and whether the place was aseptic were pathetic. We have never known such a generous rental. Hats off to owners, cleaners, gardeners, linen changers, and rental agents - we loved what you provided. There were no comfy reclining chairs for the garden, so we bought two in Leyburn and left them there - when the owner is generous, it behoves us, the renters, to add rather than complain. The local publican is less than friendly, please don't sing his praises. We have no doubt, this was the best rental ever. It really makes a difference when you don't have to worry that the plates, pans, cups etc. might run out. Nespresso is expensive, we understand, but the capsules were there, an outside phone line is a lifeline for emergencies, but it was there, on trust. The ability to override the heating controls when it was cold was superb. The strongest impression was the generous attitude of the owners - almost everything we could want was there, particularly books and dvd's over the region. One suggestion - please frame and hang an OS walking map of the immediate region. So, in sum, brilliant. Please tell the owners, cleaners, linen changers, and gardeners that we felt that. The way in which the Old Chapel is equipped and fitted out is quite outstanding. Much effort and thought has been put into it. We had a wonderful few days staying there.

This cottage is fantastic, a perfect place for 6 adults, a toddler and 2 dogs. The pictures do not do it justice, every room is bigger than expected and so well appointed. Fantastic local walks to West Burton and Aysgarth from the door step and plenty of sights to see in the car. For value for money it is up there with the best cottages we have stayed in around the Yorkshire Dales.
