Diego is a VERY pleasant host - his english is good. Very communicative, any questions I had via What´sApp he answered detailed and fast. He was very accomodating regarding the key pick up. My plane was late and somehow the phone numbers country code got messed up when sent to me. However he contacted me, concerned how I am doing and when i will arrive, so all worked out in the end. Diego´s place on the 2nd Floor with a balcony was nice to sit outside and enjoy breakfast in the sun on our own schedule. He has a nice bistro set on the balcony with umbrella for the balcony. Also he provided beach chairs and umbrella for the beach. The apartment is spacious, clean & modern, well equipped with sleeper couch, fridge with freezer (a few more details in the kitchen could be better, but you just need to ask Diego and he makes it possible). An AC/Heater Unit is available in the big kitchen/dining/living area with a big TV The bathroom has a nice modern rain shower or handheld with nice pressure and hot water was always available. Shampoo shower gel and liquid hand soap was provided. Plenty storage in bathroom for you toiletries. Bedroom has nice lighting options and plenty storage space. He even has an ironing board and iron in there if anyone would need that on vacation. The double bed had a comfortable supportive yet OK soft big 1 piece mattress with 1 big bed spread (so not the typical 2 mattress 2 bed cover principle lot´s of people like). Also AC/Heating Unit available in there. I prefere Diego´s solution. Also there is a common space area on the entry level with a very small pool table (maybe for kids - however we had fun playing a few rounds) and a few other games and a couch + TV Parking at the train station was easy and free. Basically you can see the car from the apartment balcony if you park it correct. You do have to walk around the building to get there, less then 5 minutes.

I love to travel, but have unfortunately always 2 issues: one is NOISE and the other one is the MATTRESS/bed Apartment is just east of the train station, however the train was really not very noisy. I felt the road up above was more of an issue, we did have the windows, doors and shutters closed at night. I am a very light sleeper, sensitiv & easily interrupted! I looked at many apartments between Taormina and Messina, decided for this one, because it felt like the best compromise The supportive medium soft mattress was pretty good for italian standards. It was not just a hard board in your back. For me personally it would have been better if it would have a foam topper, but this was not available. Slept OK and enjoyed the vacation. My husband was not aware of noise and said the mattress was good, and he also does not like HARD mattresses.
