About this apartment rental
Large private balcony and rooftop terrace overlooking the Atlantic. The apartment building is right on the beach, with no noisy roadway between you and the spectacular views. The only sound in the evenings, is the waves breaking onto the cobble beach eight floors below.
There are three double bedrooms. The master bedroom opens straight onto the balcony
and also has a large ensuite with ‘double’ bath. There is also a family bathroom with shower.
This is a large apartment (130m2) and very well built. Couples sharing have plenty of space – although there could be arguments about who gets the master bedroom!
The apartment has been a privately owned, family holiday apartment for the last 25 years, and is very well equipped.
The kitchen has all the appliances you would find at home, although there are plenty of lovely cafes and restaurants close by, if cooking isn’t on your agenda!
If you do opt for some home-cooking, we would recommend the beautiful fresh fish and vegetables for sale on the island. We love cooking when we stay down there. Evenings on the terrace are very relaxing, dining and watching the sun setting.
The apartment was renovated in 2017 and simply decorated, but still has a lovely comfortable feel to it. It is our home from home!

The large sunny windows face south-west, and the Atlantic sunsets are spectacular from the eighth-floor balcony. The sun sets over the sea, in line with the highest cliffs in Europe.

This 3 bed apartment is furnished to a high standard. Everything is at hand you would have at your own home. Nyara is an excellent hoist, and nothing was too much trouble for her. She was always on hand offering advice and support when required (our arrival flight was delayed by a day due to high winds at Funchal airport). The apartment block (exterior) is showing some signs of age (built 1995). The location is ideal as it is quiet and on the beach, with very frequent public transport to Funchal (Funchal is busy, suffers air pollution, and can become stifling), sunny without being too hot, plenty of fresh air with the coastal breezes. It is an easy hassle free holiday, which is why we have been twice in 4 years.

Very clean and bright apartment on Formosa beach. Porch and rooftop lounging space provide expansive view of the beach with amazing sunsets! Location is walking distance to a few local restaurants but you will need a car or taxi to explore the plethora of other culinary delights in the vicintity. Although their are 3 bedrooms in the apt (1 master and 2 much smaller ones) , the bathroom arrangement is not really suitable for 3 sets of adults as there is only one suitable shower for all in the shared bathroom. We were 2 couples and worked out the shower situation without any problems. Still, the location, views and modern appointments in the apt made our visit to Madeira a memorable experience.

This three-bedroom oceanfront apartment is absolutely breathtaking, with a huge deck overlooking a black beach. Nyara and Miguel take care of everything for your visit to make it the best!

We stayed in this 8th floor apartment for 12 nights. It is a penthouse apartment but it is not new. Described as “luxury” it now needs upgrading and essential maintenance in order to retain its “luxury” status. The seals on the patio doors are going and water came in to the sitting room. The drain in the shower tray maybe blocked as the water takes ages to drain away. The shower seal also leeks. The curtain tracks are old and do not close easily. The carpets and in particular the carpet edges need a good clean. On the plus side the apartment has an extremely well equipped kitchen and good quality furnishings and comfortable beds. The manager of the apartment Nyara was charming and very helpful.
This location is not for the faint hearted. Although there is a small and very handy cheap little restaurant at the gate to the apartment block you really need to take a taxi to other restaurants unless you are a keen walker. The taxis are excellent and not too expensive. The reception desk in the foyer are happy to make Taxi bookings. The weather during our stay was poor (in common with much of Europe at this time) and we experienced high winds and saw very little sunshine.
Visits made included the Madeira Cable Car, Tropical Gardens and a visit to Camara de Lobos.
