Very nice apartment, calm but central, everything in walking distance. Well equippied kitchen. Only misunderstanding was about the terrace which we understood can be used by us but wasn`t the case.

The apartment was stylish, spacious and had everything we needed. It was quiet and cool (during the heat wave) as well as very close to restaurants and shops. We loved the outdoor seating area and used it a lot.

An exceptional top-floor duplex apartment on our first visit to Nancy – in a characterful historic building but with every modern convenience. We loved our stay here and would love to come back! The apartment is really spacious, stylishly furnished, wonderfully comfortable, and thoughtfully and practically equipped, including a very well-equipped kitchen. The location is fantastic, on a quiet street in the Old Town with the atmospheric sound of church bells, an excellent choice of specialist food shops within 1–2 minutes’ walk, much more within 5 minutes, and Place Stanislas just a 10-minute walk away. The property is also walkable from Nancy Ville rail station in about 20 minutes.

As some other reviewers warn, the apartment is 3 floors above the street, and accessed via a ‘traditionally French‘ spiral staircase – there is no lift. Be prepared to climb! We found this challenging as we were travelling with 10 days of luggage. With smaller luggage it would be fine provided you are fit to climb the stairs. Reviewers are correct to note that, while the bathroom is en-suite to the bedroom, the toilet is on the lower floor and does not have its own handbasin. To wash hands, you have to walk to the kitchen or up to the bathroom, which is a bit awkward. This layout seems to be traditional in Alsace-Lorraine (we later stayed in two 5* hotels, both of which had the same separate-loo-with-no-basin arrangement). But, nonetheless, the addition of a small handbasin would be good – or perhaps liquid soap and a hand towel in the kitchen. The large bed was superbly comfortable, but it’s possible to hit your head on the sloping attic ceiling – be mindful. Everything else was perfect!
