Our stay in Cahersiveen was absolutely fantastic. We were within walking distance to Main Street, a grocery store, and what my husband and I consider now our “local’ pub. Everything was clean on arrival, and our host as more than gracious. We absolutely fell in love with the area.
Also, there is a lot to see and do around the Ring of Kerry area.

A great position from which to explore both the Ring of Kerry, Valentina Island, and the ring of Selling. Unforgettable views within walking distance, and more just a short drive in almost any direction.

Wonderful experience
Wonderful experience
This rental is one of the best we have used. So convenient to many beautiful sights in southwest Ireland. The owner and his Mom, who lives next door, are very attentive. The welcoming gifts or food and drink were great after a long day of driving. The apartment is clean and so comfortable. Hope to stay again.

A fiend and I have just returned home after our annual Irish holiday
We stayed at Johns property in Caherciveen for a week. It is very conveniently situated as it is only a short walk into the town and is on the Ring of Kerry. It is very quiet at night and has a lovely view of the harbour.
John left us wine, milk, bread, butter, tea & coffee. His mother Margaret was very kind and helpfully. She even hung out and brought in our washing for us so that we could get on with touring the area.
The property is lovely and clean, comfortable beds, good wifi connection and good TV channels. Hope to return again in the not to distant future
Thank you for making our holiday so enjoyable

Welcoming modern apartment in charming Cahersiveen, Ireland
Welcoming modern apartment in charming Cahersiveen, Ireland
We found this place after searching around the West Coast of Ireland for a home base. It was ideal for our family of four with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. We were welcomed by the neighbor who gave us a complete tour and instructions as well as recommendations for restaurants and shopping. We were able to explore the Ring of Skellig, Valentia Isalnd (stunning), and John helped us make reservations with a reputable boat captain to visit the Skelligs. Unfortunately, the weather did not allow us to get out there but we could see them jutting from the sea.
The apartment itself had everything we needed including a washing machine. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen and dining room were neat and modern with all the necessaries for making our own meals. It's a short walk from just about everywhere in town which is charming as can be. John and Margaret (the neighbor) were easy to reach and just plain kind and generous. The area is gorgeous with lots of stunning views. I highly recommend this appartment for families.

All We Could Hope For
All We Could Hope For
We spent 84 nights here and everything about the property was wonderful. Well furnished, well equipped, comfortable furniture and beds. Perfectly situated at the marina in a village halfway around the Ring of Kerry. Ideal location for exploring the Iveragh Peninsula. Margaret, the mother of the landlord, lives next door. A delightful woman, she could not possibly have been more solicitous or caring. Try as we might, we have absolutely nothing to quibble over. Loved our three month Irish home!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the area and the accommodation proved to be comfortable. Well provided for in the kitchen and lounge area although it was difficult to get the TV working . Bedrooms were fine if a little small. Pity the shower could not have been repaired before we arrived but we did manage with the one bathroom. Many thanks to Margaret for looking after us. Overall a most enjoyable stay.

Perfect place!!
Perfect place!!
My family (husband, 13 year old daughter and 10 year old son) stayed in John's wonderful place for our first trip to Ireland and it was a very special experience! The house was SUPER clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The check-in process was very easy and John's absolutely wonderful mother, Margaret, greeted us at the door. She was a real delight! She recommended places to see, places to eat, where to get groceries (the kitchen is fantastic!) and she was so very helpful in every way. Cahersiveen is an adorable town within easy walking distance with many shops, restaurants, pubs, etc. The harbor is right outside your door and the hiking in the area is second to none. The Ring of Kerry is easily accessible as was Valentia Island, and Skellig Michael. We cannot say enough about John's place! It was, in a word, amazing! We hope to get back there again soon!

My husband, myself, my son, his wife and my one year old grand-daughter stayed here for a week and found it to be everything that was advertised. It was clean, modernized, and very comfortable. It was right beside the water and was only 2 blocks from the downtown of Cahirciveen where there was a lot of shops and pubs. We were very close to St. Valentina Island and Skellig Rock. We were also on the ring of Kerry. John's neighbour met us when we a arrived and let us in and showed us where everything was and how everything worked. She was always available if we had questions and went far and above to help us out while giving us our space. We would recommend this home to anyone wanting to explore the southwest part of Ireland.

Quiet haven

We were four adults in lovely, comfortable accommodation. The unit had everything we needed and the owners were available to address any problems immediately and help us whenever we needed help. The location made walking to pubs and restaurants convenient and the meals were great. We also bought local seafood and produce and produced two fantastic meals on our own. A great location to explore the Ring of Kerry in detail.

Modern and clean house
Modern and clean house
When we arrived Margret welcomed and showed us the whole house. She already bought a bottle of wine, milk and coffee, so we felt haertly welcomed in Ireland. The house was very clean and the beds have been comfortable. The only thing we disliked was the fact that it was a little cold in the evening and we didn't know how to dry our wet clothes. But I guess it was our fault because we didn't ask for heating ;) We just felt a little bit irritated to heat in july ;). All in all we really enjoyed our stay in Ireland and would come back!

We stayed for a week and could not have asked for a better accommodation. Check in and out was hassle free, communications were easy, WiFi was strong and the kitchen was well equipped. We really appreciated the espresso maker. Great location and easy parking for our car.

Confusing for an American, good otherwise!
Confusing for an American, good otherwise!
The house doesn’t have the number on it but it would be easy enough to figure out. Some things that are particularly normal to have in a rental in the U.S. may not be so common in Europe so although we were overall very happy with our stay, there are some things to be aware of so you are properly prepared.
The heat and showers are confusing. We had to call about which switches were correct for turning on the heat. Also, I’ve never heard of being charged by the unit for heat at a rental and the instructions state that upon arrival – if you are not familiar with something like that, it’s not the most welcoming thing. Showers are VERY different than American showers. It’s got dials, buttons, and they are small, so don’t count on shaving your legs. It’s an electric pump and my husband couldn’t figure his out and showered in mine. There is no wall mirror in the hallway bathroom, the hand mirror provided is broken..an easy fix.
Beds in Europe are small- My husband I are both 6 ft, so we were not able sleep in the same room. Beds were comfortable as long as you are by yourself.
The kitchen is well stocked with almost every utensil you’d need to cook a meal. We realized once we got ready to cook that what was not supplied was salt & pepper, which is a staple in the U.S. The espresso maker provided was nice, but complicated, we googled how to use it. We had a small dinner party and ask our local guest to bring his personal French Press.
Being that we had been traveling Ireland for several days and knew the house had a washing machine, we did a load of laundry. Again, very different than a U.S. machine, with something like 8 settings and 5 trays for detergent, no instructions.
The Wifi was slow, but it got the job done for simple internet searches, don’t count on it for Pandora or other streaming.
Please note that most rentals we stay at list local grocery stores, things to do (like the awesome local castles, Valentia ferry, restaurants (The Point). The only grocery store that showed up on a search was a closed one! I’d also recommend that owners leave notes on the short cut walk to town instead of the way we went the first couple days. The most confusing thing to me --the door locks-need instruction!
I’d recommend adding a couple umbrellas and a place too hang your coats at the door. John’s parents were nice enough during a storm to drive us into town and give us an umbrella.I don’t want this to come off as negative, I just think there are a few minor things

Absolutely lovely home!
Absolutely lovely home!
This is an older home that has been completely renovated and updated. It is so well maintained I felt as though I was the first guest using the kitchen and bathrooms.
The home is just a couple blocks from the Main Street of Cahersiveen, allowing easy access to restaurants, bars, supermarket and shops. The only recommendation I would make is that a coffee maker be provided for those of us that aren't exclusively tea drinkers.
