About this cabin rental

Welcome to Slopeside Lodge!

***As of January 1, 2027, the Beech Mountain Club will no longer allow membership transfers.***

Slopeside Lodge is a tastefully updated mountain home that sits atop Beech Mountain within walking distance of the ski slopes, ice skating, snowtubing, shops, restaurants, and more. Enjoy year-round long range mountain views from the two rear decks. The dead-end street ensures your desired privacy. This three-level mountain lodge is an ideal vacation destination during all four seasons! Enjoy the cool summer temperatures, snowy treetops and winter sports, spring wildflowers, and colorful leaves in the fall.

Slopeside Lodge has three (3) fully private bedrooms but functions like a four (4) bedroom home. The spacious open loft has three (3) twin beds and one (1) twin trundle bed accommodating four guests. Additionally, a queen sleeper sofa in the lower level den can accommodate 1 or 2 more guests.

The main level offers an open-concept great room, a comfy sectional, cozy blankets for lounging, a gas log fireplace, an HDTV, a full kitchen, and dining for up to 12 people with towering, vaulted, tongue-and-groove ceilings. The master suite on the main level features a king-size bed, an HDTV, and an ensuite bathroom with a tub and shower. Also on the main level are a queen bedroom with an HDTV, a full hallway bathroom, and a laundry room. The rear deck reveals layered mountain views through the treetops with a bistro table for two, a live-edge bar with stools to enjoy a cocktail while taking in the scenery. Both a gas grill and charcoal grill can be found on the deck for those who prefer to eat-in.

Upstairs features a spacious open loft with three twin beds and a twin trundle bed. This doubles as a large play area for children, as the beds are all arranged around the perimeter of the loft, leaving the middle of the room open for spreading out games and toys, setting up sleeping bags, etc. Also upstairs is a queen bedroom and an adjacent full bathroom that serves the bedroom and the loft. There is an HDTV in the queen bedroom as well.

Downstairs features a huge family room and game room. A queen-size sleeper sofa offers flexible and additional sleeping options, making Slopeside Lodge ideal for larger groups. An 8-foot pool table, an arcade game, a large HD Smart TV, and tons of extra space make this a great family entertainment center. There is a full bathroom downstairs and access to a deck with mountain views through the trees and the slopes of Ski Beech on the right.

There is off-street, level gravel parking for up to four (4) vehicles. In addition, there is convenient walk-up access from the large Ski Beech parking area below if extra parking is needed. There is a covered front porch that leads to the main entrance. Nearby is the Village at Ski Beech, with restaurants, coffee, shopping, ice skating, snowtubing, then the ski slopes for snow skiing and snowboarding! All are an easy walk from the property.

Miles of walking and hiking trails, parks, ponds, and streams surround Beech Mountain. Guests can also enjoy Buckeye Recreation Center, which is just a few miles away, offering indoor and outdoor sports such as a fitness center, tennis, basketball, pickleball, volleyball, soccer, playground, and climbing frame, and more. Guests can fish and canoe/kayak on Buckeye Lake. Open to guests at a small per-day price. Go to their site for more details and to check pricing and hours of operation. This house was perfect for our stay. It is as close as you can get to the slopes without being directly on the slopes. Just a short walk through parking lot 1 and you are there. My husband and I are a bit older and out of shape, so we rented an XL locker for 2 days and just kept our boots in there so we wouldn't have to trek back and forth in them. But, that was just us being lazy - the walk is literally only 5-7 minutes MAX. The only thing that could be improved (and this is miniscule) would be replacing the 5 cup coffee pot with a 12 cup. My husband and I are big coffee drinkers and we had to make multiple back to back pots to make enough for us. There is a Keurig machine available but we don't use those. The rooms were spacious yet cozy, beds comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed. There were only 6 of us but we could have easily fit 4 more people. The downstairs game room is PERFECT for kids - we hardly ever saw our teens; when they weren't on the slopes they were playing pool downstairs. Communication was top notch! This house easily goes down as a favorite and if we come back to Beech to ski, it will be the first one we look at to stay in again.

Everything was great about this place. I would give it five stars for location next to the ski slope. The only complaint is that the thermostats are misleading because they are not located in the same area that they control. It would be very helpful to know which part of the house that they heat or cool. Also did not find the linens for the downstairs until we were cleaning up to leave. I would suggest putting that information in your directions for the house.

We had a very good stay at this property. Positives: The location was perfect. We could walk to the slopes. The space was plentiful with more than enough rooms and beds. Well stocked kitchen. The view was beautiful! Gas fireplace/heater makes for a cozy living room. Not so positives: The windows have blinds only, so sunlight will get in easily. We noticed some plates and silverware were stored dirty. Overall a great place. Look fire to staying again

The property location was spot on for skiing Beech Mountain! From the start the email communication can be a drag especially when your in an area with limited service. Courtesy phone calls would be a nice welcome from time to time. We got notice of the morning of check in that we might not be able to stay the night due to the storm and the previous tenants not getting out in time. Thats not something you want to hear 9.5 hours from home with NO where to stay. Either way it worked out and we were able to stay, of course CCR didn't let me know that (as they promised they would) I just went and tried my code at check in time. The listing said that there were parking for three cars but it was more like one and a half since they snow was pilled in the middle of the drive, we made do with 4x4 trucks. Once in the house we found the dishes were all left dirty in the dishwasher, and the dryer was full of linens. After getting that sorted out everything was ok, until the heat down stairs quit working. I will say that Carolina Cabin Rentals did handle this the quickest and best way they could. The situation was temporarily resolved for our stay and we were comfortable. Overall the location was ideal and the house is fairly nice. It could use some maintenance and a thurough cleaning. I have rented from VRBO many times and I usually try and rent direct with owners as I like the open communication that comes with that. Using a rental company tends to complicate the situation, and most of the times the properties aren't as clean as they should be. It's like it's treated as just another number and NOT there own. Overall though the property was ok and the stay was nice I would use it again it just might not be my first choice.
