Shaggy Bear Manor has magnificent long-range views at 4900 ft and is located one mile from Beech Mountain Resort. It has 1,500 sq ft of decks on two levels both covered and open; two stone gas fireplaces, one on each level; two outdoor wood fire pits (roasting marshmallows!) with an outdoor bar area. There is plenty of room on these two levels for entertaining family/friends and enjoying the beauty of nature as deer roam constantly on the property.

The house has 4BR/3.5 BA plus a game room. This sizable property can sleep up to 14 and is dog friendly (additional fees apply). The master bedroom king suite is located on the main level with beautiful long-range views. These views can be seen from every place in the house. The main level has a fireplace in the family room, guest bathroom, full kitchen, in-door dining table along with a barbeque grill and outdoor dining area.
The lower level has another family room with another inviting fireplace and bar area. In addition, the lower level has 3 bedrooms, laundry room, and game room. The game room has a foosball table, ping pong table, and darts for both kids and adults.

Sleeping arrangements are as follows:
-King Bedroom on the main level, private bathroom with a walk-in shower- sleeps 2
-King Bedroom on the lower level, shared bathroom with combo tub/shower, private balcony door-sleeps 2

In the winter, enjoy some of the best skiing in the East Coast, snowboarding, ice skating, and snow tubing. Beech Mountain Ski Resort is only 4 minutes away. When there is no snow, enjoy hiking trails, mountain biking trails, chairlift rides, and disc golf. Buckeye Recreation Center, a short four-mile drive away, provides basketball courts, tennis courts, racquetball courts, a playground, and a picturesque lake for fishing and paddle-boating. The town of Banner Elk, 6 miles away, is at the base of the mountain, with attractions like High Country UTV Tours, Sugar Creek Gem Mining, the Wilderness Run Alpine Coaster, and Wildcat Lake. Other area attractions include the iconic Tweetsie Railroad, Linville Caverns, white-water rafting, Hawksnest Snow Tubing and Ziplining (17 miles), and Grandfather Mountain (16 miles). It is 10 miles to Sugar Mountain.
