About this villa rental
The property consists of 1.050 m2 gardens, with a swimming pool (7x4m) a barbecue area, very sheltered sunny location, various terraces including a roof terrace with fantastic views of Sintra hills.
The villa (150 m2) consists of 4 bedrooms - 1 en suite; and a children’s bedroom that sleeps 3. A large kitchen with breakfast area, a living room with dining room area, has a separate laundry room.
Secure parking on the drive with space for 3 cars.
It is located only 5 minutes from the local village of Colares, where you find coffee shops restaurants and food stores. Only few minutes away you have famous beaches like Praia das Maçãs, Praia Grande and Praia da Adraga. Nature lovers can enjoy long walks in the area.
These villages are situated amongst pleasant woods in the heart of Sintra Cascais Natural Park, surrounded by a natural reserve park. It borders the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Sintra and provides easy access to gorgeous walks in forest and the coastal areas.
Colares is situated on the southwest side of Sintra on the Atlantic coast.
The village of Colares is absolutely delightful and has long been a very popular summer resort.
Colares is a wine region (DOC), the ramisco vines are some of the oldest in Portugal, known for its deep colour, full bodied red wines that are high in astringent tannins and can be tasted at the Adega Regional in a very beautiful building in the village.
The houses and imposing farms all around Colares affirm this wonderful relation with wine and its production.
Colares has mild winters, an ideal summer temperature which never gets too hot, the autumn is ideal too, is like a second spring.
One of the main attractions is the tramcar with a lovely journey that starts in Sintra (in Estefânia, next to the Sintra’s modern art museum), has a stop in Colares and ends in Maçãs Beach.
Praia das Maças “Apples Beach”
The beach is about 250m wide, surrounded by coffee shops, restaurants, in this village there’s a daily market place for fruit and vegetables, also a fish market
Next to the beach there is a swimming pool with ocean’s water, a children’s park and space for picnics.
The beach has also good facilities for sport fishing, on both sides of the sandy area.
Another closest village is Almoçageme at 4km; here you find a rustic village with all of the typical narrowed streets, here you find coffee shops restaurants and food stores. Every Thursday morning there’s a farmer’s market, Saturday and Sunday all day.
The village is spread up the hill from the Atlantic Ocean. Adraga beach, was ranked as one of the 20 perfect European beaches’ by the Sunday Times.

This house is one of our favourites, we were here for the second time this summer. Amazing beaches are near as well as Sintra, Lissabon, Cascais and all the other cities. You can even take a tram from the corner of the house to Sintra.Location is peaceful and still by walking distance to the grocery stores, cafes and restaurants of the village.The house is big, really clean and has everything you can need including pool towels, ironing equipment, washing machine and hairdryer. Outdoor area with roof terrace, grill and swimming pool is beautiful. And the hostess, Mafalda, is so nice and helpful. If any questions, she answers quickly - and this time also helped us to book a nice location for our party in Colares.We really recommend this place for families of any ages or adult groups! Thank you again!! We will come back.

Lovely accommodation, well equipped and immaculately clean. There are so many extras included to help you enjoy your stay. Colares is well positioned to visit Sintra, Cascais and the resorts on the Atlantic coast. It is not necessary to have a car as Ubers are readily available and very reasonable. As the Atlantic coastline is not conducive for swimming it is great to have the swimming pool which is not overlooked, and a roof terrace on which to dine overlooking the sintra hills. Would definitely recommend this accommodation.

Fantastic property, location, and owner! Highly recommend very nice countryside, setting with easy access to the city, tram, and public transportation. Perfect for multifamily stays.

We had a fantastic time in this super clean, spacious property - 2 families and enough space to spend 8 days without getting on top of each other at all. Wonderfully situated too in the Sintra Hills, with beaches a -0 min drive away, a village in 10 min walking distance and Sintra a 15 min drive away. Lovely touch of homemade biscuits, homegrown lemons and walnuts and homemade quince membrillo too. Definitely a 10 out of 10
