Relaxing in an astonishing environment

The Chateau was located in a beautiful, calm environment. The hosts were very gentle and caring. We were also introduced to the history behind the castle. We were also served great breakfast.

Superb

Colette & Yves are friendly and attentive hosts. The location, overlooking a small lake, with a large fenced garden, is absolutely beautiful & especially relaxing after a long drive. The breakfast was generous, with homemade preserves, croissants, bread, fruit, yoghurt, cheese, fresh coffee, assorted teas & a local patisserie which is a specialty of the region. It was beautifully laid out on the sunny verandah, overlooking the lake. The chateau was built as a hunting lodge & has all the original features. Our bedroom was private, comfortable, and was situated on the first floor of the house. Our young dog enjoyed running in the paddock and we enjoyed visiting the donkeys (Romeo & his two offspring), looking at the country-style garden, the small vineyard & kitchen garden. On Colette & Yves reccomendation, we made a reservation for dinner at Le Chaudron, in Ratte (a 7 minute drive), which serves local dishes. Yves and Colette were charming hosts and our only sadness was that we don’t speak better French or German. However, we all managed to get by, to chat. We had a very pleasant time at their lovely chateau.

I would not change a thing

Beautiful location, very quiet and friendly host. Amazing stop if you are headed to the south of France, but I can imagine staying longer also. Our dogs were as relaxed as we were!

Fabulous Rustic, Tastefully Decorated, Comfortable Gite in Delightful Setting in Villeron.

We liked everything! The location though a bit remote was stunning overlooking a private lake. The was peace & quiet & our stay was tranquil. Our hosts were most charming & we received a delightful welcome. The Gite we stayed in was stunning, the décor extremely stunning & comfortable bed & furniture. Great shower, good kitchen & appliances & fabulous seating outside. We could have stayed a lot longer in this fabulous clean, cared for & comfortable property. We enjoyed walking round the growing small vineyard & seeing the cottage garden vegetables & salads that were being grown by our hosts. The hosts donkeys were a treat to see & just to sit & watch the herons & swans on the lake. We would be delighted to return.

We were made very welcome by charming hosts.

The breakfast was wonderful and full of natural and local products. The location was very good for us, en route from Liguria in Italy to our home in South West London. The house was in a very tranquil setting with beautiful views over the lake and surrounding countryside. The beds and pillows were very comfy and we both slept very well after a long day's drive. Collette and Yves were very attentive and we enjoyed talking to them. They reserved a table for us at a restaurant in a local town which provided a lovely dinner.

I can't think of anything we didn't like. It was a very rustic house and we loved it. If you were looking for a smart and modern place to stay it would not be for you.

Exellent.

Beautifull location at a liitle lake, the house looks like a small castle. The hosts are very, very friendly and they do their best to make you feel good. Breakfast is exellent and more than enough. For us as Dutchmen it was very nice the the woman spoke German ( born in Switzerland).

I cannot mention any item which was less or bad. I fully recommend this place to other guests in the future.

A very pleasant stay on the way home from skiing with delightful hosts.

The breakfast was excellent. We especially enjoyed hearing about the different types of bread and the local specialities. The location with a lake in the grounds in tranquil countryside was excellent. We especially enjoyed the opportunity to see and enjoy the countryside in this part of France.

A wonderfully relaxing holiday in a cosy cottage

We loved the quiet cosy, tastefully decorated cottage. A wood burning stove made a cosy atmosphere, although the cottage was already well heated. Colette and Yves were very attentive and did everything they could to make us feel at home. A nice view on the lake and wineyard from the dining area. A wonderfully relaxing holiday.

Vi blev venligt modtaget af værterne og anvist det hyggeligste værelse og fik den skønneste autentiske morgenmad på den fine balkon på 1. sal. Vores hund var meget velkomme.

Det var lidt langt fra motorvejen til en enkelt overnatning.

DU PUR BONHEUR

En pleine campagne, le château se trouve face à un étang. L'accueil des propriétaires et l'échange avec ces derniers est exceptionnel. Notamment, lors du petit-déjeuner, Yves nous fait partager ses connaissances de sa région et le tout avec humour. Colette avec son petit accent apporte autre chose. Vraiment pour nous, cela a été une très belle étape. La chambre est confortable, les toilettes avec plein de grenouilles (de collection) c'est drôle et la décoration donne une âme à ce lieu. Yves est antiquaire donc, n'hésitez pas si vous avez de la place dans votre voiture à lui demander de vous montrer ses meubles. J'oubliai nous avons dégusté des croissants qui sortaient des bouches de deux grenouilles et des délices de Laons le saulnier : des corniottes ! J'oubliai le chat : le petit Lion de Villeron !

Einfach zauberhaft

Wir verbrachten einen zauberhaften Abend auf der Terrasse, genossen die Stille, den See, das wechselnde Licht, die Beobachtung der Reiher. Als ob wir in einem 200 Jahre alten Gemälde sitzen würden. Das Frühstück war liebevoll und dekorativ angerichtet mit verschiedenen lokalen Backwaren, selbstgemachten Marmeladen, Käse, Obst, Joghurt, Saft. Die Gastgeber waren sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Vielen Dank, Colette und Yves, für diesen wunderbaren und unvergesslichen Einstieg in unseren Urlaub.

Le terme château est inapproprié, simple maison, isolée donc loin de tout et notamment de tout restaurant pour dîner, décoration de bric et de broc

Un cadre magnifique et reposant pour ce week end. Des hotes tout aussi magnifique et qu'acceuillant. Un petit déjeuner tres copieux ..Nous avons chercher ce qu'il pouvez manquer dans ce Gites ,mais rien a redire vraiment tres tres bien equipé. Parfait, nous reviendrons dès que possible...

Nette Gastgeber, saubere Zimmer in einem alten Haus und schönes Frühstück. Leider konnten wir die schöne gedeckte Terrasse nicht benutzen da es zu kalt war. Jederzeit wieder. Ruhige Lage.

Onbegrijpelijk hoe iemand die op zo’n manier reageert een gastenverblijf heeft.

We mochten niet inchecken omdat het 21u30 was. We hadden de boeking uitgevoerd online via booking.com om 19u en aangegeven dat we pas om 21u30 zouden toekomen. Niets ontvangen van bericht dat dit niet mogelijk was. Bij aankomst pas na 10 min van bellen per telefoon en aan de deur de eigenaar gezien. We werden weggejaagd omdat we te laat waren. We zijn met ons gezin (2 kinderen van 4 en 6) 50 minuten verder moeten rijden voor een andere overnachtingsplaats te vinden die nog beschikbaar was. Ondanks dit alles werd ons verblijf wel aangerekend.

Außergewöhnliches Zimmer in wunderschönem Ambiente. Das fantastische Frühstück auf der Terrasse mit Blick auf dem See war ein echtes Erlebnis und die Gastgeber waren super freundlich.

Für manche mag die Einrichtung etwas veraltet erscheinen, aber für uns gehörte das zum historischen Charakter dieses alten Hauses.
