About this cottage rental

The cottage is bright and spacious and consists of 2 large en-suite bedrooms a double and single bed in one room, double in the other, has a well-equipped open plan kitchen, lounge and dining room. The bedrooms & living area are all fully air-conditioned.
There is an outdoor dining area, a BBQ and large private grounds surrounded by mature oak trees. Close proximity to walking tracks.

The 10x5m private pool has a large terraced area and is securely fenced.

The cottage is fully equipped including:
Oven, hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, TV, DVD player, Air Conditioning in bedrooms & Living room also with ceiling fan in Living room.

Bed Linen and towels are provided.

The cottage is well furnished and equipped to a high standard. Ample private parking space is available.

Highly recommend this property, it was exactly what we were looking for, perfect French cottage . set in peaceful country side, spacious, comfortable, fantastic pool and outside areas. Better than the pictures. Fayence is lovely village, but would recommend having a car as steep climb to the village, but some lovely French restaurants, shops and market 3 times a week. Large supermarket in walking distance. Plenty to explore in surrounding areas, vineyards, lake with water activities, drive to Nice, Cannes, Monaco and many other French towns and villages. Owners Marc and Lorna who live near by were lovely, on hand if you need them but at same time don’t know they are are even there.

Very clean house and pool in very quiet place in rural area 1.5-2 km from big super market and the restaurants in Fayence. Occassionally you can hear and see small airplanes from a very small airfield for gliders nearby. Host live in neighbouring house but is very careful not to disturb.

We spent two wonderful weeks in Mark's charming cottage. The house is ideally located for excursions towards the Mediterranean, to the Lac de Saint-Cassien (various leisure activities) and for trips through the many small mountain villages in the hinterland. And if you want to relax, you can choose between swimming in the large private pool, having barbecue on the terrace, napping on the sun beds or reading on the daybed on the veranda. Mark and his wife are super nice and happy to give tips for excursions, we really enjoyed the time and can only recommend the accommodation.

This is the first place we chose for a two week holiday with our teenage boys (15 & 17) and enjoyed every minute of our stay. The review by David C from 2018 is still accurate on everything except that it’s even better. The relaxing pool days were just wonderful for all. We hope to be back again to this gorgeous area as it’s a perfect launching point for so many activities. Thanks to Marc and Lorna for their care and love of the property as it shows as a guest.

The cottage is tucked away at the end a small lane on the outskirts of Fayence, one of the many medieval villages that ‘perch’ in the hills here in Provence. It isn’t too far to walk into the village to the local Supermarket (Super U), boulangerie and tabac but from there it is quite a steep climb to get up to the centre where you’ll find the Market, Shops, Tourist Information Office and most of the restaurants and bars. If you do want to walk to the centre look for the shortcuts and steps that save you following the winding road up. If you prefer to drive there are quite a lot of parking spaces up there - we didn’t have any problem. The location is a great base to make day trips from - the Tourist Information Office are very helpful and previous guests at the cottage have left some information. It isn’t possible to do everything. From our experience this time we definitely recommend touring the surrounding villages for the architecture, markets, restaurants and craft shops; for breathtaking scenery go to Gorges de Verdon. and for perfume, shopping and more architecture go to Grasse! Within the cottage itself, we found the kitchen/dining area/social space well appointed with air conditioning and lots of home touches to make our stay easier and more enjoyable. The two large ensuite bedrooms each have a double bed plus a single bed. The beds were very comfortable, air conditioning effective and we always had piping hot water for showers. There is a lovely veranda so you can sit outside in the shade either at the bistro table sipping a coffee or relaxing on the sofa with some thing cooler. We did both! We BBQ’d most nights and loved having a separate outdoor dining area. Both the garden and pool areas are very nicely laid out and provide excellent spaces to both play, chill and relax in. They were discretely but well maintained during our stay. Mark and Lorna were very warm and friendly, ensured that we had all we needed to have a great stay at the cottage and were on hand to deal with any queries. Overall, we had a wonderful holiday and look forward to returning in the future.

Mark and Lorna gave us a generous welcome to their peaceful home. We have often rented lovely houses abroad but theirs felt very much 'a home from home'. Probably because they look so well after it! We had a wonderful time at this cottage in Fayence. Mark and Loma were fantastic and we felt right at home right away. Fayence is a beautiful town and has everything you could want and more. Situated close to so many beautiful areas. We each had a great bedroom with full bathrooms so we were not in each others way. Kitchen and living area were large and spacious. We grilled outside by the swimming pool which was well maintained and great to have after a long day of sightseeing. If you are looking for a perfect space for 4 people you have found it here. We will be coming back to see more of this area and relive the places we already went to. I miss it already. Thank you Mark and Loma for a wonderful experience. Lino and Kelly

We spent two weeks relaxing in a comfortable house, which was clean and just perfect for two couples; own bedrooms and own bathrooms/toilets. Also, the kitchen equipment was adequate. The owners were at hand if we needed anything. The pool was nice to spend the day in the sun, reading books and, of course, jump to cool off in the pool. Women were able to enjoy the farmer's market three times a week, as the market days were Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. In Fayence village there was every evening an event, if you want to follow the French village atmosphere. Location of the house is perfect to make really easy a day trips around Provence. And while writing this, we have already booked the house again for next summer 2013! Vietimme kaksi rentouttavaa viikkoa mukavassa talossa, joka oli siisti ja juuri sopiva kahdelle pariskunnalle; omat makuuhuoneet ja omat kylpyhuoneet/WC:t. Myös keittiön varustus oli riittävä. Omistajat olivat käsillä kun tarvitsimme jotain. Uima-altaalla oli mukava viettää päivää auringosta nauttien, kirjoja lukien ja tietenkin välillä pulahtamalla vilvoittelemaan altaaseen. Naiset pääsivät halutessaan nauttimaan kolme kertaa viikossa maalaismarkkinoista, sillä toripäivät olivat tiistai, torstai ja lauantai. Fayencessa oli joka ilta jokin tapahtuma, joten halutessaan pääsee seuraamaan ranskalaisen kylän menoa. Sijainnin vuoksi talolta voi tehdä todella helposti päivän retkiä ympäri Provencea. Tätä kirjoittaessa olemme jo varanneet talon myös ensi kesäksi 2013!

Our stay at the cottage was wonderful, the description was accurate about everything and it was exactly how we expected it. The cottage was clean and comfortable and well equipped for a family of 5! (and the dog)! The owners were at hand if we needed anything and the pool was kept clean for our use. The pool was definitely the highlight of our stay, it was perfect. The kids had so much fun swimming everyday and the parents enjoyed relaxing round the pool! We will definitely recommend this property to our friends and relatives and probably even go back ourselves.

Het huis is van alle gemakken voorzien, twee ruime slaapkamers met aansluitende badkamer/toilet. Slaapkamers hebben airco, maar ook horren voor de ramen zodat je met open raam kan slapen (en in de verte de hanen kan horen kraaien en de ezel hoort balken). De keuken is goed uitgerust en buiten staat een (schone!!) gasbarbecue. Het zwembad is groter dan de meeste prive-zwembaden en eromheen staan lekkere ligstoelen, met kussens en parasol. De eigenaar (Mark) is bijzonder aardig en behulpzaam!! De afstand naar de supermarkt is te lopen (15+ minuten) en voor de wandelliefhebber is ook het centrum van Fayence te doen, maar je moet wel van een stukje bergopwaarts houden. Fayence zelf is een aardig plaatsje met mooie straatjes en lekkere restaurants. L'auberge Fleurie binnen loopafstand vlakbij de supermarkt bijvoorbeeld, of Le 8, een klein familierestaurantje met heerlijke streekproducen. Voor een echt goede pizza kan je naar Le bis, maar er zijn tal van andere mogelijkheden. In de omgeving kan je motorrijden, fietsen, wandelen, of je huurt een waterfiets op een van de stuwmeren (Lac St Cassien bijvoorbeeld).

Es hat alles gepasst. Das Haus ist sauber, hat eine gute Aufteilung, der Pool ist großartig, es ist alles sehr gepflegt, die Umgebung bietet einige Möglichkeiten. Mark ist ein toller Gastgeber, der immer zur Stelle war, uns aber trotzdem komplett unsere Ruhe gelassen hat. Sicherlich ist die Ausstattung des Hauses kein Luxus, aber zweckmäßig und wir haben uns sowieso vornehmlich draußen aufgehalten. Durch die Klimaanlage konnten wir sehr gut schlafen, die Betten waren auch sehr gut. Insgesamt absolut empfehlenswert!

Anreise und Willkommen haben perfekt funktioniert. Marc and Lorna sind ein charmantes Paar, sogar die erste leckere Willkommensmahlzeit mit Rosé war bereits im Kühlschrank. Tolles Haus mit viel Grün, liebevoll eingerichtet, sehr schöner Pool und großer Garten für Spiel und Spaß gleich neben dem Haus. Komplett eingerichtet, mit allem was es für erholsame Ferien braucht. Viele Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in Autodistanz. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Diese Ferienhaus ließ keine Wünsche offen. Mark und Lorna, die Besitzer, die gleich nebenan wohnten hießen uns herzlich willkommen und waren auch während des Urlaubs bei Fragen immer erreichbar. Zunächst lud der Aussenbereich ein, der gemütliche Sitzplatz, an dem alle Mahlzeiten eingenommen wurden, der phantastische kindersicher eingezäunte Pool, in dem wir unsere Bahnen schwimmen konnten. Die Küche war perfekt ausgestattet und im Kühlschrank wartete sogar ein lokaler Wein und provencialischer Käse. Die geräumigen Schlafzimmer mit en-suite Badezimmern waren ein echter Luxus. Dies ist ein perfektes Ferienhaus zum Entspannen mit Buch am Pool, als Ausgangsbasis für reizvolle Radtouren und Ausflüge ans Meer und in die Berge. Der Ort Fayence ist auf Tourismus eingestellt, aber nicht überlaufen und hat sehr viel Charme, tolle Restaurants und Bars. Die Selbstverpflegung wird durch einen sehr gepflegten Supermarkt, nahe gelegene sehr gute Boulangerien und den Wochenmarkt gesichert. Wir werden wieder kommen!!
