We had a wonderful time in your lovely home. Everything from the location to the peacefulness of the surroundings added to the enjoyment to our stay. The house is comfortable, homey and has all the required amenities needed for the perfect getaway. Would really recommend your place.

If you like quaint, you will like this property. The driving instructions I got on line were poor. While the bedrooms were nice, you may not be able to get your suitcases up the spiral staircase. After a day of showers in standing water, I found a plunger and removed a huge glob of hair. Having said all that, our experience at Omaha Beach and Utah Beach and the American Cemetery were amazing.

We stayed a whole week in this beautiful area in northern France. The home is part of a converted train station, with a nice feeling of privacy and reclusiveness. It is truly walking distance to Omaha Beach and a handful of reasonable bars and restaurants. There is a convenience / grocery store within walking distance. The whole area closes down each day for lunch and after 1700, so pack prepared. The kitchen is lovely; we spent hours each evening with the windows open and a glass of wine, watching the sheep and cows. I recommend placing a mirror in each room; there is only one mirror (in the bathroom that was often in use) and only our daughter could use it effectively, as it is so low. Thank you for your diligence in getting the Wi-Fi back up.

"We rented this place based on its location near Omaha Beach, because it had a washing machine, and because it was reasonably priced. The place was filthy when we showed up. We expected sand on the floor as this house is a half mile from the beach, but we did not expect unmade beds, for example. But clearly, someone had been sleeping in my bed, said each of the three bears, but I refuse to 'hot bunk' after a stranger; I slept on the futon rather than invest my time stripping the bed and washing the linens. While thinking about this, I must add that the mattresses need to be replaced because they're worn out and offer poor support. This house is under-electrified and the circuit breaker blows for the slightest reason; I would expect it to blow when overloaded, it's just that it took so little to overload the system that I wondered if the house was safe (we personally built and wired our own house so I can write with some authority on this). As another reviewer wrote, there is plenty of hot water under good pressure and we've found that unusual in many cases, so that's a point in favor of this property. The shower head holder didn't work properly, so one-handed showers were the rule. There was a stain (looked like blood to me) on the floor of the shower, so that had not been cleaned before we arrived. Moreover, the dishes, cups, and glasses had food stains on them, so we washed a number of things in the kitchen before using them. The electric kettle never did work and there is a short in the light fixture over the cooktop, making it troublesome to cook after dusk. The washing machine stopped in mid-rinse cycle, so the clothes were removed sopping wet; we eventually got the machine to drain. The owner needs to think about how she comes across in her messaging and in her house book. For example, she has virtually every flat surface covered with small statutes and dust collectors (a wooden cat doorstop, a plastic statue, seashells, and whatnot) and then notes that she has an itinerary or list of everything in the house (which she sends the renter at the last minute), making it absolutely clear that she doesn't trust you to leave it there. Of course, everyone knows you're not supposed to steal, so why would she shove it up your nose? Really casts a pall over staying here. We travel internationally often and run into all sorts of accommodations - we were Peace Corps volunteers in Africa years ago and know rough travel - so we write from experience."

My husband and I stayed here for three nights. We selected this house for three reasons: 1. Close to Omaha Beach and the D-Day sites; 2. Wi-fi; and 3. Laundry. The good news: The location is fabulous. You can see the ocean from the house, and we walked down the street to the ocean. The market is just a few doors down, so we were able to buy groceries to cook at home. There is NO internet, however. The host told us that a person was coming around "next week" to see about it, but that didn't help us. Also, there was no information in the house book about logging on to the internet, so we wonder whether the house has actually ever had the internet. It was very inconvenient not to have wifi access to the internet, as we needed to confirm our next stay, and rental car, get directions, etc., which we could not do. Finally, there was plenty of hot water and good pressure, unlike what some of the other reviewers stated. No problem there, but the washing machine did not work. It went through the full cycle, but ended with the clothes all full of soap and soaking wet. There were no instructions about how to use the machine, so I texted the host who suggested an additional setting, but that did not resolve the problem. When we arrived, the bathroom sink was clogged and my husband tried to plunger it, but it dredged up tons of icky greyish black stuff. I went to the store and bought Draino de-clogger solution and even that didn't work. Contacted the host who promptly had a plumber come out the next day to fix it. But really? If the sink had been cleaned prior to our arrival, wouldn't this problem have been discovered? So, due to the maintenance issues, I can't give this place a very high rating. If all you want is a place to crash near the beach, go for it. It was really well equipped for kids with lots of toys and children's books. We are a retired couple. If you need all the plumbing and appliances and internet to work, I suggest that you confirm it before you book it, or you may be disappointed.

The house is situated on a perfect location for sightseeing and is charming. But it has no seating comfort and was dirty when we arrived. Dust, sand and hairs on the floor and dirty kitchen cabinets. The linnen was clean. Several things were not working properly. Shower drain was clogged, the shower head couldn't hang on the wall (loose attachment), drying program of the washer didn't work etc. We paid for three nights, but left after two.
