It is my favorite spot to stay in Cortona: warm and bright and comfortable.

If someone has mobility issues it is unlikely to be a good fit. It is a steep climb up the hill and there are stairs to reach the apartment. The street it is located on is intended only for small vehicles. For most people it is not a problem.

Location and the size of the apartment

On my contract, a balcony was listed, but our apartment had neither a balcony nor a view. I explicitly rented this apartment for the view. We would not have booked this property if we had known there was no view. I gave the management and owner an opportunity to discuss this matter in a friendly way, but they lacked the ability or willingness to do so. I finally traded texts with the owner Marco and he seemed arrogant in my opinion. He claimed that the errant balcony listing was his mistake. Was it merely a mistake? I don't know. But, the promise of a view obviously brings in customers. That's most likely why a balcony is featured in the cover photo for these rentals (I believe there are three). Marco claimed I hadn't been careful enough and I should have been able to surmise the actual situation. Perhaps. But, to me, before booking, all of the information was taken out of context. To Marco, who is very familiar with his own property, all information is in context. He claimed something that he very clearly knows is not true. I decided to stay there despite my disappointment, because finding other accommodations would have been difficult. Believe me, I checked. Also, my wife isn't healthy, and I didn't want to tire her out. The apartment that we got has character. It solely occupies an old building, but the interior has been recently renovated. It has two bedrooms and you must walk through both of them to get to the bathroom in the back. The apartment has a lot of windows looking out onto leafy trees. It has no air-conditioning, but a fan is provided. Keeping the windows open wasn't practical as there were mosquitoes. The best feature of the property was the generous check in and check out time. - Two pm and ten thirty am, respectively. The manager allowed us to check out before eleven am ostensibly because of the balcony issue, but it was not discussed as such.

The drive in, through old town Cortona, was challenging, and the old stone buildings seemed to interfer with the signal from Google maps. Also, parking near the property is limited. You may have to wait for a spot to become available. Not much was offered in the kitchen. No salt. Just two espresso pods for two people for three days. Generosity does not seem to be a strong point here.

The location was very good proximity to center. Be prepared to walk up a. Wet steep hill though to get back from center. Parking absolute nightmare and to get to property was very difficult by car. But pretty much all of Cortona roadways are difficult to maneuver through. People who own home were nice and helped guide us into area so we could park.

Besides it saying balcony in ad… there’s none at all. There is a garden area that you cannot even see from home. Have to go outside and down stairs to get to. Small table with two chairs. Property very dark. Was left with only two towels for 5 days. No paper towels and no tissues provided. No true views from windows of home. Large trees block views. Only nice view from close to fence in garden area.

Second time around and it did not disappoint.

They could fix the kitchen tap which comes loose. It was the same last year.
