About this villa rental
Casa Carolina is situated in the countryside just 10 minutes drive from the lovely pueblo blanco (white village) of Competa with it's many shops, bars and restaurants. The villa enjoys a peaceful setting with only the sounds of nature to disturb you. Its surroundings are lovely - the view up to the mountains is simply stunning. Terraces and garden surround the villa with a lovely pool to make the most of the outdoor lifestyle. The pool can be heated at extra cost. It is fully fenced for the safety of children. A Spanish kitchen is set next to a pretty vine covered pergola for alfresco dining while watching the sun set over the hills. There is a large area of land which belongs to the villa, with olive and almond trees and wild herbs leading down to a stream - a wonderful place for nature lovers with wild flowers, bees, butterflies and birds and, of course, the ever present song of crickets. If you tire of all this there is plenty to do close by visiting the beaches of the Costa del Sol, pretty Spanish towns and the cities of Malaga and Granada. The house is cozy in winter with heating and a log burner and secure if you have dogs.

We had a lovely stay at Casa Carolina, which sits as the lowest property on one side of this valley and benefits from uninterrupted views of the valley floor and the wildlife that lives here. Marie and Clive were super helpful hosts from the initial email contact, to the meet-and-greet, and through to checkout.I'm reluctant to give this review because I'd rather keep this secret sanctuary to myself and not encourage others to book "my" villa, in case it isn't available when I choose to return.

The villa had everything we needed. The heated pool was the selling point for us and put to good use. Marie and Clive couldn’t have been more helpful and their communication was great. The views of the surrounding mountains are stunning. Word of warning though, a car is an absolute must but it takes some time to start to feel more comfortable on the mountain roads. We had a fabulous stay!

Casa Carolina is a lovely property with stunning views and great facilities. The pizza oven was great fun and the pool a treat even in December. The hosts were very helpful.The location is convenient for Competa, coastal resorts and the city of Malaga - perhaps the only slight issue is that an impression was given that there were restaurants within walking distance. This was definitely not the case. We had a lovely Christmas with sunshine and snow visible in the mountains.

Beautiful house with free and private location in the mountains. Super clean and well equipped. The road to the house is a bit steep and scary, but after driving it a few times you get used to it.
Great house for children with a fence around the pool and no stairs.
