Good budget accommodation.

Furnishings are old and the place needs a paint but for the price good value.

I liked everything.

The only criticism is that I was told the pub part was open at 4pm. When I went to the bar the following day at 4pm, I was told they were having a staff meeting and 'to go away and come back at 4.30pm'! I didn't bother going back as I found somewhere else . If the bar is supposed to open at 4pm, then have your staff meeting at 3pm then! The thing is, they all went really quiet when I walked into the room at 4pm and made me feel stupid and uneasy, like I shouldn't have been there. I When I asked for a drink, one of them said 'we open at 4pm'. I looked at my watch and reminded them it was actually 4pm. I was then told to come back at 4.30pm. They could have easily served me and asked me to sit in the other room, or better still, have their meeting outside the opening hours. Sorry to sound negative, but I was really looking forward to trying their beers as they had a great selection, but once I'd ventured out and found another bar, I wasn't then going to go back.

What is not to like? A beautiful hotel that is part of a wine bar in the hear of a historic city's old town area! As soon as I saw the door I knew this was my sort of place. Check-in was on Halloween with all staff dressed up and an especially warm welcome for the party night.

My room "Olasz" has a shower cubicle under repair, which is fine. Although I did wonder if the floor of the shower was about to collapse... I was very careful not to stand on the repair patch.
