A good base for an Aviemore adventure.

Great location, access to leisure facilities, warm with good showers, comfy beds, stove with firewood provided, good value breakfast option.

Place a little run down, kitchen very basic, some dirty utensils, 5:00pm check-in is quite late, could do with a smart TV, poor internet, coffee pod machine but no pods provided....?

An excellent resort for a short break with children.

Included breakfast was excellent. Location very good for other attractions such as Landmark and the Highland Wildlife Park and Highland Folk Museum. Restaurant food in general was very good, as was the pool, which has a large slide and a wave- machine. The lodge was very warm and comfortable too.

The service in some of the restaurants was a little slow. The ice- rink was crowded and numbers should perhaps be limited. There were also wildly different standards of skater, which could be dangerous in such a small space.

Wholesome family break, nothing beats the autumn colours in Aviemore but the lodges need a bit of TLC.

Location is top class, love the Nespresso coffee machine (would be nice if you still got a few pods), the swimming pool is great:

This is our third visit and we have stayed in three different woodland lodges (3 bedroom). All three are in desperate need of TLC. The carpets are threadbare and the kitchenettes are tired. The dishwasher in lodge 7 leaked (most recent stay).

Over-priced and disappointing

Location is good, close to the high street and there are a lot of facilities for children albeit they’ve seen better days!

Everything is incredibly dated - the decor, the bedding, the changing faculties at the pool. Doesn’t look like it’s been touched since the ‘90’s. We stayed in one of the lodges and it was all incredibly basic. Especially for the price.

The property was getting very tired, kitchen was starting to fall to bits and the carpet on the stairs was worn through. The water pressure was very poor.

Great lodge in great location

Lovely lodge in great location for all facilities and lovely woodland walks for dog. Great being next to playpark and swimming pool & soft play being included excellent too.

Kitchen was very small and didn’t have an oven to cook food we brought with us. Fridge was tiny for us and bottom shelf in door was missing so storage was even more limited. Carpet bit worn on stairs and ceiling in bathroom is flaking just needing a wee facelift.

Great lodge in an excellent location

Excellent location. The lodge was lovely. A Nice, spacious and relaxing holiday home. Three good sized bedrooms all en suite. We didn't need to use the log burner as it was quite mild but I could imagine and nice cosy evening in the lodge with the fire burning on the colder evenings. There was a plentiful supply of fire wood in the lodge had we needed to use it.

This was a three bedroom lodge and the twin room had a 'stale' smell from the drains probably from lack of use. It didn't impact our stay as we only used two bedrooms and it wasn't so bad that we had to report it. We did mention it on check out.

Spacious, warm and private. Everything that you needed included. Lovely fresh clean sheets and towels. An option of a welcome food pack would have been a nice option when you can’t check in until late.

New mattresses required in every room. They were all past their sell by date. Especially frustrating in the matter where it was two singles clipped together, which is fine if both mattresses are a match - we had opposite’s- so ended up miles apart or stuck together. Also their is no oven for cooking.

The location is beautiful, set within the Scottish Highlands and the bustling town of Aviemore.

The kitchen area had a pungent smell like a rotting animal. There were vermin bait in the lodge so we assume an animal was left to rot under the cupboards. The smell was addressed during our stay but we dared not use the kitchen.

The location and leisure facilities made up for the very very poor accommodation.

The location to Aviemore, the leisure facilities on site (pool, gym etc), and the kids entertainment continues to draw you to these tired "lodges".

The "lodges" are extremely basic and tired. For the price you pay they really need to be significantly modernized. There is no way you could cook for a family of 6 for a week with no oven and basic, old and done pots and pans.

Quiet woodland location on a dead-end road (little traffic). Near to amenities on resort and off (station / supermarket / restaurants)

Lodge facilities disappointing. The kitchen was tiny with no oven and there was not enough cutlery for the six bed chalet. Despite asking at reception, no additional was provided.

The property had plenty of space for everybody to have their own room and separate areas to relax after being out and about doing activities

Self catering facilities were extremely poor. We had a hob and a microwave, we had planned to cook a bit more than we were able to.

We requested for cottages close to each other which was promised but not given. It had no dishwasher and washing machine. They didn’t even give any sponge to clean vessels.

Breakfast was very good, and served in excellent surroundings. Lodge inside was excellent very happy with comfort and cleanliness. Pool was great, and we will bring the grand kids next time.

Entrance step into lodge needed some TLC repairs. On line restaurant booking didn’t appear to be very accurate.

The pillows are not good There was no wifi (we were told there was a fault but not sure if this was correct) also poor 4g which made watching tv, ordering food online, looking up activities etc very difficult. There was no tea or coffee or dishwasher tablets which I am sure we got last year. The pool was very cold. For the price paid I think it was a bit disappointing (compared to last year)

Really nice being tucked away in the woods. Great privacy. Annoyingly no oven. Decking felt like it needed an upgrade. Lodge was lovely just dated.

The surroundings were beautiful and close to all amenities. Kids loved the pool and the pool disco. Staff at reception and the pool facilities were very nice and helpful.

Needs updating. Kitchen facilities quite ordinary and old. Kitchen tap leaked over the counters. Weather was hot during our stay and no fans available. We opened all the windows but the wasps kept flying inside.

Loved the location it was amazing. The staff in the Highland hotel were all so lovely the bar staff in particular. Everywhere is brilliant with dogs which was a huge plus for me. The lodge was nice. Will will come back and would recommened.

The lodge could have been doing with some upgrages while it was clean and sheets/bedding spotless. Any other lodge i have been to had basic essentials oil for cooking some coffee etc this has nothing and was very basic. No oven which is not great for self catering. Could be doing with a paint was a bit dated. And would have loved a few outdoor seats in decking.
