The location was excellent, and the staff lovely. The Lodge itself was clean and the beds very comfy.
We chose to stay at the lodge because of the hotel facilities on offer - however, they were very dissapointing - the pool in particular was extremely tired, rusty looking and the changing rooms dirty - a very unpleasant experience. The soft play has the most expensive vending machines for guests - £2.50 for a coke! Again, tired and dirty looking.

Area and pool
Alot of electrics not working, reported it to staff and still never seen anyone at the lodge, for the money paid for the logde it should be a better standard. Fridge wasnt working as the power supply had fused, i had to remove the fridge myself to plug straight into a socket that made the fridge in the way. Under floor hearting for the bathrooms had fused kids kept saying they didnt want to use the downstairs bathroom because the tiles were freezing, reported this no one came to check. Bedroom on lefy main lights couldn't switch on as they kept flashing on and off same with the lights in the kitchen. Main bathroom toilet was sticking so it was stuck on flushing. We have stayed in the lodges 4 foir times and each time there is more and more flauts, thos is the first time ive made a review because it was below standard for what i paid for.

I liked where the lodge was situated but that’s really as far as it goes.
The property was extremely dated. No batteries in remotes. Try to phone reception multiple times with no response. There was no pods for coffee machine nor any tea or coffee or even biscuits in the lodge. The bin in the lodge was absolutely tiny. Staff were very rude in the swimming pool and wanted to make a fuss about the amount of children we had with us. This should be mentioned on booking as the woman said children under 5 need 1 adult to one child which means you do not accommodate anyone with more than 2 children. If you have 5yr old 3yr and 10yr old you could not take them swimming here as it’s not based on capabilities it’s based on ratios which is absolutely wild. We were made to look very stupid standing in waiting area whilst other people were let in. Including a 17yr old in the children’s softplay. Think people need to rethink producers.

Very clean and great location. Everything on your doorstep . Access to Leisure centre was great.
5pm check in is far too late especially when checkout is 10am.

Plenty bathrooms
No oven!! For the size of the property I feel this is an essential.
Also poor tv

Loved the accommodation and the leisure facilities. Breakfast was good, and the staff were attentive.
The pool was a little cold, but the staff were great. The cinema refreshments were a little steep in price. Some staff seemed a little begrudging to be at work but I get it, it was quiet. The lights in the Aspects restaurant were quite flickery when we had our steak dinner there, but the staff and food were good, just a little distracting with the lights

The location of the resort is great
The property felt tired, some of the tech didn't work, and it certainly was not as luxurious as I was expecting.

Location is brilliant
The lodges are SO expensive for what you get. They haven't been updated in over 10 years, nothing is supplied on arrival (tea/coffee/milk) for how much it costs is quite a let down.

Overall, the staff were really nice. We had a fantastic time using all of the hotel facilities with our young family. The breakfast was also very good.
Overall, the lodge was dated. There was no oven which came as a surprise and should be advertised. The photos on booking.com of the kitchen are misleading.

The lodge is in a great location and is spacious, warm, and clean, which made it comfortable overall.
However, it is very dated and, in my opinion, in need of a proper upgrade. The carpets are tired, bathroom floor tiles are cracked, the shower door does not close properly, and the TV is small and very old. For such a cool looking lodge externally, the interior décor really lets it down.
On arrival there were only three small logs provided for the log burning fire, which was disappointing for the first evening. We did request more the next day and received them, but it would have been far better if the lodge was properly stocked from the start.
For the price paid, some basic touches were missing. There was a Nespresso type machine in the kitchen but no coffee pods, tea, milk, or similar. Without knowing which pods to buy, the machine was essentially unusable. Small additions like this would have made a noticeable difference to the stay.
Breakfast was genuinely disappointing. The choice was very limited and the setting felt more like a school dinner café than a resort breakfast area. Basic items such as fried eggs ran out daily and had to be specifically requested. There was only one toaster for the entire venue, which regularly resulted in queues, and the only coffee option was a large urn serving mass produced coffee. Overall, breakfast felt poorly planned and below expectations for the price.

Great lodge. Very friendly, helpful staff. The walks nearby were lovely. Great location.
The lodge didn’t have an oven and the kitchen wasn’t fully equipped which made cooking difficult. The local restaurants were booked up so we had to travel to eat out. Can fully recommend the Boat Inn at Boat of Garten, excellent!

Beautiful, peaceful and very relaxing and very comfortable.
Nothing at all I loved every bit of it.

The lodge had a nice cosy feel and was spacious. The staff at the amusement complex (swimming) were exceptional (short woman with glasses) very helpful, informative and tentative. Giovanni’s by far the better restaurant based on staff and quality of food.
When we first arrived I noticed we were initially to be in lodge 15 but this was scored out and changed to 05 with no explanation. Felt as though check in was very rushed with lacking information on facilities opening times, new years event or anything else that was going on within the complex.
The lodge was lovely and a good location but a couple of issues. External lights, 2/3 not working, cracked wine glass, bathroom with twin beds if door was closed couldn’t be opened from inside. Had to forewarn my 7 year old not close the door fully over. Fire materials were provided but no information on how to make the fire only how to dispose of it. A welcome pack with information on the lodge, what was provided within the lodge and how to operate different things would have been ideal.
Aspects restaurant - first night we arrived we went for dinner 8.30pm (29th December) we were met begrudgingly by the person on the check in point and then shown to our table. We were then informed of a fair few items not available on the menu due to running out. We sat and ordered drinks then shortly after ordered food. The starters arrived and we had to request again for drinks. This was after being sat for nearly 45 minutes. Drinks arrived after we completed starters. The mains arrived shortly after but the order of tomato pasta never arrived. Seemed as though the staff were more interested in cleaning up and setting up for the morning. I ended up sharing my dinner with my daughter. The young girl servicing the back area was very apologetic and understanding and a silver lining was she gave the kids ice cream for free which was a nice touch. The food we got was really nice on this evening.
We returned to aspects on the 1st January, we could only get a table booked for 9pm due to how busy the restaurant was to be, although we arrived at 8.45pm and there was a fair amount of seating still empty.

Stayed in the woodland lodge. Lovely accommodation. Particularly liked the wood burner. Lots of facilities in the resort. Comfy beds. Christmas tree was up on our arrival
The lodge was a bit tired. Could do with a refurb. Needs a recycling bin at lodge. No facilities to wash clothes on resort or lodge.

Loved the wood fire and the provision of everything you'd need to get it going and do our 2 days
Maybe a wee starter pack of food essentials like salt and pepper would have been good

Great location, access to leisure facilities, warm with good showers, comfy beds, stove with firewood provided, good value breakfast option.
Place a little run down, kitchen very basic, some dirty utensils, 5:00pm check-in is quite late, could do with a smart TV, poor internet, coffee pod machine but no pods provided....?

Included breakfast was excellent. Location very good for other attractions such as Landmark and the Highland Wildlife Park and Highland Folk Museum. Restaurant food in general was very good, as was the pool, which has a large slide and a wave-
machine. The lodge was very warm and comfortable too.
The service in some of the restaurants was a little slow. The ice- rink was crowded and numbers should perhaps be limited. There were also wildly different standards of skater, which could be dangerous in such a small space.

Location is top class, love the Nespresso coffee machine (would be nice if you still got a few pods), the swimming pool is great:
This is our third visit and we have stayed in three different woodland lodges (3 bedroom). All three are in desperate need of TLC. The carpets are threadbare and the kitchenettes are tired. The dishwasher in lodge 7 leaked (most recent stay).

The. Eds were comfy
No firewood provided, some of the heaters didn’t work, upon arrival our lodge door was wide open and there were leaves all over the floor.

Location is good, close to the high street and there are a lot of facilities for children albeit they’ve seen better days!
Everything is incredibly dated - the decor, the bedding, the changing faculties at the pool. Doesn’t look like it’s been touched since the ‘90’s. We stayed in one of the lodges and it was all incredibly basic. Especially for the price.

Very good location, plenty of space for six people. Very clean, tucked away nicely in the woodland
The property was getting very tired, kitchen was starting to fall to bits and the carpet on the stairs was worn through. The water pressure was very poor.

Clean and comfortable
Fully equipped
Love the stove fire
Was great our breakfast included in the hotel
Long walk for one person who had mobility problems having to check in then get cases to lodge. Could do with a bag drop for people with mobility issues as we came on train

Kitchen small and a bit tired

Lovely lodge in great location for all facilities and lovely woodland walks for dog.
Great being next to playpark and swimming pool & soft play being included excellent too.
Kitchen was very small and didn’t have an oven to cook food we brought with us. Fridge was tiny for us and bottom shelf in door was missing so storage was even more limited.
Carpet bit worn on stairs and ceiling in bathroom is flaking just needing a wee facelift.

Excellent location. The lodge was lovely. A Nice, spacious and relaxing holiday home. Three good sized bedrooms all en suite. We didn't need to use the log burner as it was quite mild but I could imagine and nice cosy evening in the lodge with the fire burning on the colder evenings. There was a plentiful supply of fire wood in the lodge had we needed to use it.
This was a three bedroom lodge and the twin room had a 'stale' smell from the drains probably from lack of use. It didn't impact our stay as we only used two bedrooms and it wasn't so bad that we had to report it. We did mention it on check out.

Secluded, cosy and comfortable
Absolutely rubbish wi fi, it basically did t work which just isn’t good enough in this day and age. Also had a bikers convention which wasn’t great but not hotels fault
7.0 / 10.0
Spacious, warm and private. Everything that you needed included. Lovely fresh clean sheets and towels. An option of a welcome food pack would have been a nice option when you can’t check in until late.
New mattresses required in every room. They were all past their sell by date. Especially frustrating in the matter where it was two singles clipped together, which is fine if both mattresses are a match - we had opposite’s- so ended up miles apart or stuck together. Also their is no oven for cooking.

Required a clean but was ok. Dated and slightly worn

The location is beautiful, set within the Scottish Highlands and the bustling town of Aviemore.
The kitchen area had a pungent smell like a rotting animal. There were vermin bait in the lodge so we assume an animal was left to rot under the cupboards. The smell was addressed during our stay but we dared not use the kitchen.

The attentive staff and the location
Could have done with the lodge not being so far as I few of us had mobility issues

Odge was stunning and very clean. Great large space and beds great. Having 3 en suites big bonus. Breakfast was excellent too
Everything was great, couldn't find a single fault
5.0 / 10.0
The location to Aviemore, the leisure facilities on site (pool, gym etc), and the kids entertainment continues to draw you to these tired "lodges".
The "lodges" are extremely basic and tired. For the price you pay they really need to be significantly modernized. There is no way you could cook for a family of 6 for a week with no oven and basic, old and done pots and pans.
7.0 / 10.0
Quiet woodland location on a dead-end road (little traffic). Near to amenities on resort and off (station / supermarket / restaurants)
Lodge facilities disappointing. The kitchen was tiny with no oven and there was not enough cutlery for the six bed chalet. Despite asking at reception, no additional was provided.
