Wonderful location, immaculately presented with quality furnishings and very well equipped.

The location was perfect, in the heart of the town, but the property was amazingly quiet. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable with every possible need catered for. So much thought has gone into this property, and the goodies left were very thoughtful. We enjoyed it so much we booked for next year whilst still there. What a special place. Thank you so much

Everything was wonderful! Just one small point, an extra lamp in the lounge/ diner would be really helpful for mood lighting.

Perfect location, beautiful house and a cosy stay

We had a lovely stay here for my 40th birthday. The house is in a perfect location and there were some really lovely extra touches with the welcome basket, plenty of towels and blankets, and the owner is so nice and helpful. Thank you!

Beautiful, clean, well maintained ‘olde worlde’ house in perfect location for book town, literally seconds walk to the first bookshop.

That there wasn’t a large car park outside. Seriously, nothing to dislike. Can park outside on street overnight and car park less than 5 mins walk away.

We loved this quirky apartment overlooking part of the town, with a view of the hills beyond

The apartment has a lovely view of the town and surrounding hills. We loved the quirkiness of the old building and its history. Bed is nice and firm. Hay is a small town so you can walk everywhere. The host was very helpful.

Nothing, except to say that the stairs and uneven floors may not be suitable for someone with mobility problems.

Exceptional place to stay and am looking forward to returning

Central location handy for town and restaurants. Entrance hall had space for walking boots, jackets etc Kitchen had everything we needed . Sofa bed in sitting room comfortable and on same floor as a loo and the upstairs bed very comfortable and on same floor as shower room. Plenty of cupboards and hanging space. Beautifully and comfortably decorated.

Stairs up to top bedroom and bathroom are steep for short legged people 😄 We knew parking was free overnight only but you can buy a multiple day car park ticket in Oxford road carpark which is a few minutes walk away . We were lucky to be able to unload and load at quiet times of day and you can park for maybe 30 mins or was it 60 on castle street.

Perfect! Everything you’d want out of a stay in Hay :)

Everything was perfect; we had such a great amount of space across three levels and I really loved the little touches like the bread, jams and butter in the fridge and some fresh fruit - it was very welcomed. The bed was so comfy (and the bedding smelt amazing!) and the apartment is right in the middle of hay town, so perfect location too!

Really don’t have a negative to say!

Lovely basket of breakfast items and fresh milk and butter in the fridge! Super clean and comfortable stay. Lovely smelling laundry. A huge space to relax in the perfect location!

The shower would benefit from a moveable head as we were prepping for a wedding and showering whilst trying to keep my hair dry was tricky with the rainfall shower, but fine for a short break!

Only 1 key. 2 of us were at a wedding which finished late and 1 stayed in the property but could not lock the door when going to bed as the key had to be left in the key safe.

Beautiful and characterful. The property was clean and tidy. The bedding was great and the bed was really comfy. Plenty of towels were provided, as were toiletries & a hamper of essentials for when we arrived. Would definitely stay here again, we loved it!

Ali was a extremely considerate host,, this was our 2nd stay. Excellent communication before and during our stay. Beautiful presented central to everything the cottage is full of character in fantastic location . Kind welcome gift , fruit ,bread , Welsh cakes, biscuits. Jam 😊. All very nice. Plus a well stocked larder, of all the essentials, tea, coffee milk butter , oil plus other essentials. Would we stay again most definitely. Roll on stay 3 in the future . If u get chance visit murder and mayhem book shop. Fantastic and quirky

Absolutely gorgeous property right in the heart of Hay. Me and my Dad absolutely loved our stay, the flat was very clean with lovely modern decor yet plenty of historic character to it. Ali was really responsive and very friendly- would definitely recommend to friends or even come again!

No faults at all! Maybe a couple more fans in the peak of summer would be good as our summers are getting hotter? But absolutely perfect stay!

Excellent location with everything you need for a week away. Really appreciated the welcome pack, this was a lovely touch which we weren’t expecting.

The property is beautiful, only comments would be the stairs to the bedroom are steep and slippy for an infant, so you need to be on your guard when they’re navigating their way up and down, also, the design of the home means that the bedroom isn’t totally dark at night, which doesn’t bother me per say, but if you’ve children who prefer a blacked out bedroom, it could be a problem. Finally, there’s no bath, and the shower doesn’t have a spray option that you can control, so again, if like my kid who doesn’t like her eyes or face getting splashed, showering/bathing can be an issue. Basically, nothing was wrong with the property, the issue was holidaying with a child! ;)

Perfection as usual.

The property is exceptional. This was our second visit and we hope to stay here every time we are in Hay. Every detail is thought of and it is such a cosy place to relax when coming to Hay to buy books. Location perfect.

The only thing I can think of is that the radio is out of date: DAB no longer works so it needs DAB plus. We would have liked to have Classic FM on but could not get it.

It was a lovely homecoming during the holidays.

Wow what can I say, the hostess was very nice and easily accessible and there was a delicious breakfast basket waiting for us on arrival. The house was cosy and full of character. The upstairs was clean, with high quality beds and pillows. The only one of all the apartments (we visited this holiday) with a second toilet.

Classic cottage in the heart of town

What a find!! A cosy three floor cottage just down the street from Hay Castle. This home way from home has lots of rooms to spread out, a well equipped kitchen, great hot water, good wifi, and a rear garden. Our bikes were easily accommodated in the downstaris lobby and our check-in was easy - the emailed code for the lockbox worked fine. The location couldn't be more central and there's a SPAR store right next door. We stayed two nights and could easily have stayed the week.
