La Via dei Presepi

Je zult geen locatie vinden die meer authentiek is dan dit. Als je een doorsnee hotel zoekt, ga ergens anders heen. Wil je je voelen alsof je in het hart van Napels woont ipv logeert, ga hierheen. Sfeer is top, locatie in het midden van het historisch centrum en toch rustig door de binnenplaats. Supervriendelijk en behulpzame gastvrouw. Dit is Napels beleven ipv bezoeken. Ga staand aan een bar koffie drinken met iets zoets, zoals de Italianen. Niet hier klagen over dat er geen ontbijt is. Als je in Italië ben, doe als de Italianen.

Struttura bellissima e molto particolare! Pulita e accogliente! La signora gentilissima ci ha fatto trovare acqua e altre bibite fresche! Nonostante fossimo in pieno centro storico, lì dentro regnava la pace assoluta. Assolutamente consigliato!

Excellent location, and beautiful home. Even though it was centrally located, the room and house were very very quiet.

It was hard to find the B&B, since there was no label or sign anywhere for "B&B La Via dei Presepi." It would be nice to have the instructions sent as a message for incoming guests: find THIS label at the doorbell, we will buzz you in, and then find us on Xth floor. Also, lots of keys (as usual in Italy) - would've loved some labels for which door they unlock.

The room was clean and quiet. The young man who met us was polite and friendly. He checked on us the second day but couldn't solve the issues we had (see below.)

This property was advertised as a "B-N-B". However, it was only a "B". There was no breakfast offered, no coffee or tea available. There was a smallish refrigerator with one beer, two bottled waters, two really flat sodas (maybe one was flat...the one I tried) and two kid's juice boxes. The elevator only goes to the second floor, so more stairs had to be climbed to reach our room. The room had no fans, no ventilation from the outside (the floor-mounted window was to an inside area) and the air conditioning wasn't prepared for summer...so it wasn't working. It was quite warm in the evening. The interior lighting was dim (European standards?) The television remote wasn't working so the tv couldn't be controlled. There was no fire suppression or smoke detectors in the building...again, old European buildings I guess. This was somewhat disconcerting...but added to it was the fact our bedroom door had no interior lock except for the key. Since there was an occupied bedroom just outside ours, we had to use the key in the lock for security at night.
