About this cottage rental

PLEASE NOTE: IT IS ONLY AVAILABLE ON ITS OWN IN JULY AND AUGUST ONCE WE ARE SURE IT IS NOT NEEDED AS AN ADDITION TO PROPERTY WESTCOVE HOUSE (1213179) AND/OR THE STABLES (1213182) FOR LARGE GROUP BOOKINGS. SEE LISTING (439174).

A traditional 17th century stone cottage, originally built for farm workers for Westcove House. After years of being used as a workshop, Garden Cottage has now been converted to a high standard and consists of a spacious living room with kitchen, dining area, a wood burning stove and large patio doors opening south to a stone terrace and magnificent views over the Kenmare Estuary. Off the entrance hall is a double bedroom, a single bedroom and a shower room - also a utility room with sink, washing machine and drier. The stairs lead to a twin bedroom with its own shower room - small but comfortable and full of character. The ground floor has attractive ceramic floor tiles and under floor heating throughout.
Garden Cottage is completely secluded making it an idyllic retreat on its own, with flexible start/finish dates during the low and mid seasons…

Please note:
We can only accept full week Saturday - Saturday bookings in July and August and a minimum of 5 nights during May, June, September, Easter, Christmas, and New Year periods. At other times, start/finish dates can be more flexible by arrangement but must be for a minimum of 3 nights (a 4 night minimum applies for large Weddings or Celebrations when a marquee is required)

Lovely well equipped, clean cottage on the Ring of Kerry. Owner and property manager very responsive. Would definitely book again. Our family had a great time at the cottage and it was a great base for our holiday weekend!

The house and view are lovely. The location is peaceful. The house manager is delightful, shared some great tips for our explorations, and prepared some delicious food for us, which was a great convenience. This made for a perfect base from which to explore the Kerry Coast, Skellig Ring and Killarney National Park. We really could have used more than three nights here. There’s so much to see. The only negative, which is subjective, is the mattress wasn’t very comfortable. I would recommend this stay.

Loved the location - close to beautiful Derrynane Beach - so lucky with the weather this midterm

We had a fantastic 5 day stay in the Garden Cottage and didn’t want to leave. The cottage was spacious with every amenity you could imagine. The property owner, Susannah, was very communicative and easy to deal with. The property manager, Katherine, was a jewel! We definitely recommend having her prepare some of her delicious dishes during your stay. We can’t wait to come back again soon!
