About this apartment rental

Summary:

The Quartiers Charlestonian are a blend of historic charm and modern luxury featuring five queen bedrooms and three baths, two private kitchens and laundry units in which were thoughtfully renovated. These adjoining historic suites provide a private stay and entrance, private patio and porches, and complimentary parking for two cars, just steps away from the city’s most celebrated shopping and dining.

The Space:

The Quartiers Charlestonian summons the essence of a truly refined Antebellum Charleston experience, through truly paired with every modern convenience.

The kitchen is a timeless centerpiece, featuring a timeless La Cornue gas oven and cooktop from Saint-Ouen-l’Aumône, France, complemented by a whisper-quiet, American-made Vent-A-Hood. Guests are invited to celebrate Old World culinary traditions using top-of-the-line All-Clad cookware and glassware. Custom cabinetry, the kitchen island, and soaring eight-foot barn doors are handcrafted on-site from reclaimed heart pine, sourced during the home’s renovations.

Entertainment is seemlessly modern with a Samsung 4k Smart television, offering complimentary access to Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Youtube TV.

Each bedroom is designed for rest, offering sound machines and smart charging stations, surrounded by cypress shiplap walls and centuries-old heart pine—much of it dating back to the early 1600’s.

The bathroom is a masterful blend of history and luxury, tiled with original repurposed Vermont slate dating to 1851, when the house was built by shipwrights. Salvaged standing-seam tin from the original front porch roof forms a striking backsplash behind the hand-hammered, nickel-plated vessel sink. Period-inspired water closets sourced from Kent, England complete the Old World aesthetic.

Outdoors, guests can embrace the Charleston tradition: relaxing on the porch and enjoying the coastal breeze. Rocking chairs overlook Cannon Street, while a private rear porch and patio offer additional space to unwind, complete with a lounge sofa and Acorn barbecue grill.

Operating Permit: OP2026-07476

Guest Access:

Private entrance and access to both suites. Exclusive use of front porch with rocking chairs, rear porch with lounge sofa, and rear patio with Green Egg charcoal grill and complimentary charcoal. Complimentary parking for two vehicles on premises. Hosts available for questions throughout your stay.

For larger groups, the full Charlestonian Manor House accommodates up to 18 guests, reach out to discuss combining the Quartiers with additional suites for your group.

The Neighborhood:

Cannonborough is Charleston's most celebrated dining neighborhood and the city's only approved short-term rental zone. Southbound restaurant is steps from the front door. Within a five-minute walk: Vern's, 167 Raw, Malagón, Indaco, Chubby Fish, Allora, Rivayat, Felix, Stars, Babas, and Prohibition. Three blocks from King Street and its full mile of independent restaurants and boutiques. Steps from Spoleto Festival USA's primary venues. College of Charleston and MUSC within easy walking distance. Folly Beach and Sullivan's Island twenty minutes by car.

Getting Around:

There is plenty to see and places to visit within walking distance. Uber and Lyft are very common and will not be delayed. Street parking and parking garages are available and relatively easy to access.

Other Things to Note:

We are three blocks from King Street, right in the middle of all Charlestonian activity. Incredible restaurants such as Southbound, Verns, 167 Raw, Malagon, Indaco, and Azur. Great places to have drinks are even closer at places like Felix, Stars, Babas, and Prohibition. There are also great niche restaurants closer than King Street, such as coastal Italian at Allora or creative Indian at Rivayat.

If you want the full Charleston experience, a walking tour or carriage tour is a must. If you have sea legs and are aiming for total immersion into history, the steamboat runs to Ft. Sumter daily and you can land your two feet exactly where the Civil War started.

Interaction with Guests:

Our team is available for questions and happy to assist in any way we can.

We stayed here for our daughter’s CofC graduation. The house was spectacular and we have all commented on how we want to come back to this house. Easy walk to CofC but the neighborhood it is in is more fun to explore than the King Street/more touristy areas of Charleston. Many evenings we would just gather on the porch or in the back and relax/play games/hang out and be with families and friends. So many spaces to do this. Thank you The Charlestonian! We will be back!
