About this house rental

Rear of home overlooks a wooded area and natural setting attracting birds and wildlife that can be enjoyed from the elevated, screened porch
The open concept ranch offers a living room with comfortable couch and sleeper sofa (regular size mattress) opening in to the kitchen/dining area which leads to the attached screened porch.
The master bedroom includes a king bed, private bath with walk-in shower, 2 walk-in closets, a desk with flat panel TV/Internet.
The second bedroom has a queen bed and closet. The second full bath with walk-in shower is right outside the door!
The kitchen is fully equipped with electric stove, microwave, dishwasher, Keurig coffee maker, a refrigerator/freezer with ice/water in the door and all other kitchen essentials. Center island with bar stools is convenient for food prep.
The dining table is steps away, seats 6 and over looks the back yard. The kitchen/dining area opens on to a large, elevated screened porch complete with gas grill, patio table, chairs and glider. A perfect evening spot to enjoy the sounds of nature and your favorite beverage...

Guest access:
Our place includes access to the entire living area on the main floor. Egress is through the main door, but owner may offer access to the garage entry if a ramp is more comfortable for you. (Note: Owner has access to the garage as well as the basement. Parking is outside on the paved driveway).

This is our fifth stay in this beautiful home! It is definitely home away from home! The deer out in the backyard in the snow were beautiful. Thanks for keeping the deer fed! We will be back in about 6 months and hopefully this will be available. Thank you Mark and Sue for sharing your home.

The property had enough space for the 5 of us. It had lots of every type of dish or appliance you might need in the kitchen. The house stayed very warm for the cold winter weekend as we watched the snow & deers in the woods. Thanks for having us!

On the positive side, the house was well-placed for visiting Oberlin and was clean and well-furnished. The low stars on cleanliness is because the house had an unpleasant odor very noticeable every time we entered the house. It also appeared to us that on two occasions someone had been in the house in our absence, turning on a light and turning on a laptop.

We enjoyed staying in our hometown, near country roads for a fall drive. The local deer stopped by a couple of times. The peaceful back porch was used every evening watching the sun retreat. Hope to return next year when we visit family in the area.

Very neat house in Amherst, less than 15 min away from Oberlin. Old, tasteful furniture, in good shape, a number of well thought- out closets, and small features throughout, comfortable beds, very clean and well organized. Sunny screened-in porch and view towards the woods, small water feature providing pleasant white noise to the porch. Planning to return!

We really appreciated the level of detail we were given in the instructions, including things to do near and around town. Close drive to downtown Amherst and Lakeview beach. This property was perfect for our month long stay. Location was exactly where we wanted, and the house was clean and roomy. Although we didn’t cook much, the kitchen is stocked well with everything you would need to cook a meal. Laundry is handy, right off the kitchen. The property is located in a quiet neighborhood and the deck was enjoyed by us every day. It’s a peaceful setting overlooking the woods, which meant birds, squirrels, raccoon and deer. If/when we return to the area, we will be sure to stay here again.
