About this house rental

Stonebridge is a very charming, recently built (completed end of 2008), detached timber clad house in a very special location with the most stunning views to Knoydart. The house is tastefully decorated and offers luxury accommodation for up to 6 people. Downstairs is a hand-painted bespoke fully equipped kitchen, including microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher with dining area off seating up to 6. There is a utility/boot room with washing machine and tumble dryer. The sitting room is intimate and cosy with a contemporary wood-burning stove, TV/DVD player and very comfortable sofas! On the ground floor there is also a walk in wet shower room and double bedroom. The 2 further bedrooms (one double and one twin) are located upstairs along with a separate bathroom. There is a varied selection of books and games. Wi-fi.

We already stayed at Stonebridge 6 years ago and were happy to come back again. The house is lovely, clean and well equipped. The view over the Sound of Sleat is great, this time we were lucky and even saw dolphins. A distillery is in walking distance, we recommend to take a tour. Thanks for having us again!

Despite an extremely wet week, being able to return each day to Stonebridge Cottage made our stay an enjoyable one. The cottage is of a high standard & we have no hesitation in recommending the property as an excellent place to stay. We would have no hesitation in using it again.

Lovely house, well equipped and an excellent location on the beautiful and quiet Sleat peninsula of Skye. The veranda was great for sitting out on. We had a great family holiday. A minor point but whilst there was an abundance of wine glasses there were no beer glasses!

So much about this property was spot on. A super bathroom with walk in shower down stairs, fully equipped kitchen, warm and cosy relaxing space with bookcase, wifi, fabulous view from a terrace with a ruined castle within walking distance - terrific! We just had a couple of niggles - the oven and cooker was over complicated. As a group of friends, we wanted to make some meals and eat them together, unfortunately, the cooker proved to be very difficult to understand and not one of our party, which consisted of a scientist, three teachers and a designer, could really get the hang of it. A couple of extra seats on the terrace would also have been a boon, since we were a party of six, rather than having to lift the heavy dining chairs in and out from the living room. The heavy large sized gravel in the steep driveway was also a challenge for our three cars. Slipping and sliding! However, as my 5 star review above shows - overall, this was a wonderful house in a magical location. I have stayed in houses, flats and cottages all over the world and this was certainly one of the best.

A perfect getaway in a real home from home. Extremely comfortable and well-situated not too far from Broadford and local store. Despite the rain, we had a wonderful time exploring the isle and will definitely come back again. Thoroughly recommend.

This was our Easter holiday, postponed because of Covid. Wendy was most helpful in finding another date when Easter was locked down. Finding the house was straightforward, great directions. A very clean, comfortable, well laid out and modern cottage. Easily accommodated five of us and the down stairs bedroom provided added privacy for my son and his partner. The wood stove provided a real focal point for evenings, quite romantic really. The cottage was well stocked with games, books and films with excellent Covid rules for boxing anything we used. The cottage provided an excellent base for touring Skye and although not helped by the weather, we saw most of southern Skye. Very handy shop in Armadale with a real find in the filter coffee! Last afternoon we found the drive to the Point of Sleat and then the walk. It was too late to do the walk but we will be back for that one. The views to Rum and Eigg were truly beautiful and of course, every morning waking up to Knoydart across the water what could be better?

The property was really clean and had everything you needed. The kitchen was exceptionally well equipped with crockery and pots and pans. There was plenty of space for 5 adults. The location was beautiful looking over the sea onto the mainland and we could see seals from the veranda. I hadn’t realised how big Skye was and most trips to the north of the island ( Portree, the Old Man of Storr, Fairy Pools ect ) took at least an hour. It’s well worth it though to experience the landscape and wildlife.. eagles, seals, deer. The nearest supermarket is 10 miles away which is why the lack of a welcome pack was so disappointing. No milk or even a teabag after a really long journey was a bit of a blow. Otherwise the property was great.
