We zijn daar op zaterdag laat in de middag aangekomen. Het huis waarin we terecht kwamen is enorm gemankeerd, zit vol scheuren en gaten, de betonnen oprit om de auto te parkeren is dusdanig gescheurd en slecht dat wij de auto daar niet mochten parkeren omdat de huiseigenaar bang was dat dan de hele oprit naar beneden zou schuiven. In Nederland zou zo’n pand op slot gaan. Rolluiken die kapot waren waardoor het pand niet goed kon worden afgesloten. Horren die nagenoeg allemaal kapotgescheurd waren. Het hek van het overdekte terras aan de voorzijde, ca. 10 meter hoog, was op een plaats uit de stenen kolom gescheurd waardoor een levensgevaarlijke situatie was ontstaan. Dit was met een simpel bandje provisorisch vastgezet. De voordeur die maar zo’n 50 cm open kon. Alarm wat niet gebruikt kon of mocht worden. En tot overmaat van ramp lagen er ook nog drie tegels los op de 20mtr hoge buitentrap naar de toegangsdeur. En doordat die tegels wegschoven is mijn man met koffer en al naar beneden gevallen. Met een verdraaide knie en gekneusde pols tot gevolg. Dat was voor ons de druppel en we zijn meteen de volgende ochtend vertrokken na één nacht daar te hebben doorgebracht. En andere en héél irritante bijkomstigheid is de enorme geluidsoverlast in de vorm van continu hondengeblaf. Het leek wel of we naast een hondenkennel zaten. We hebben meteen de beheerder én Belvilla in kennis gesteld van dit alles. Ze vonden het jammer en boden een fooi aan als genoegdoening. Daar zijn we niet mee akkoord gegaan en dus komt daar een vervolg op. Dat mijn man een hele vervelende blessure heeft opgelopen vinden ze vervelend, maar ook niet meer dan dat. Het meest kwalijke is dat Belvilla heeft nagelaten om structureel controle uit te oefenen op de bouwkundige staat van de panden die ze verhuren. En daarmee dus hun klanten willens en wetens in de problemen kunnen brengen. Dus ons advies: maak zéker niet de keuze voor dit pand want je vakantie is meteen naar de knoppen als je niet oppast.

Wij zijn net terug van 2 weken vakantie (juni 2022) in Casa El Limonero en dit is goed bevallen! De vrijstaande woning ligt in een prachtige woonwijk en de omgeving is heerlijk rustig, op het af en toe blaffen van de hond van de buren na {deze lijkt op het hondje van Kuifje/Tintin, dus... we hebben hem Bobbie gedoopt ;-). Het huis is groot en ruim en voorzien van alle gemakken. Alles wat je nodig hebt in de keuken is ruim voldoende aanwezig voor 8 personen. Er staan veel keukenapparaten en er is een BBQ. Een wasmachine tot je beschikking hebben is altijd fijn. Ook een TV met de vertrouwde Nederlandse zenders ontbreekt niet. Door de ligging van de woning ervaarden wij in en rondom het huis veel privacy, net zoals bij het zwembad. Het zwembad is heerlijk (zeker tijdens de hittegolf die wij daar meemaakten). En prettig aan het huis is dat je altijd wel een plek kunt vinden waar het aangenaam zitten is met zon, schaduw of een een verkoelend briesje: op het ruime balkon met prachtig uitzicht, bij het zwembad en zelfs aan de voorzijde van de woning. De ligging van de woning vonden wij ideaal. Het hebben van eigen vervoer is echter wel een vereiste, maar dan ben je ook met 10 minuten op het strand, bij de winkels - supermarkten in overvloed - of in het bruisende centrum van Platja d'Aro. Prettig is dat de contactpersoon (ook) nederlandstalig is. Ze was goed bereikbaar via whatsapp en hielp ons bij vragen of naar een oplossing zoeken bij een probleem. In ons geval was er een probleem met de Wifi. En verbeterpunten? We hebben airco beneden in de woning gemist tijdens de hittegolf, alhoewel we wisten dat deze alleen boven aanwezig zijn. De bedden bevielen ons wat minder goed, maar dit is altijd persoonlijk, dus niet zo zeer voor verbetering vatbaar.

We had a fantastic stay at El Limonero. The house is just as it looks in the photos. It is big and clean and well laid out. The terrace gets a nice breeze and is perfect for eating meals, and enjoying the amazing view. The pool is very clean and deep (over 1,90m) and perfect for our teenage children. The kitchen is also big and has everything you need. Our contact person Astrid was very helpful and got a bath mat for my elderly mother so she would not slip in the shower. The house has 3 bathrooms and 3 showers, so is perfect for larger families (wifi signal is also strong and fast!). The supermarket is a 5 min drive, and the nearest beach is less than 15 mins drive with lots of places to eat. There are several stairs to reach the house from the road (it is on a hill) so you do need to take that into account - not for wheelchair users. We will be booking here again in the future!
