Tucked away in the prestigious Anse Chastanet / Jade Mountain area of Soufrière, La Batterie Villa is a private Caribbean retreat designed for relaxation, comfort, and unforgettable views. Surrounded by lush tropical gardens, the villa features a tranquil swimming pool with a shaded cabana, a serene lily pond, and expansive decks that invite you to slow down and take in your surroundings. Perched approximately 300 feet above the Caribbean Sea and facing the iconic Pitons, the villa enjoys cooling island breezes and panoramic scenery that never fails to impress.
Inside, La Batterie blends traditional Caribbean architecture with refined craftsmanship. Native stone, teak, and rich mahogany woods create a warm, elegant atmosphere, while classic louvered plantation-style doors open the home to the sights, sounds, and natural beauty of the outdoors.
The villa offers three spacious bedrooms, each with a king-size bed and a private en suite bathroom, comfortably accommodating up to six guests. Every bedroom includes wardrobe closets and its own lounging patio for added privacy. The master suite overlooks the Caribbean Sea, while the two additional bedrooms enjoy peaceful views of the gardens. These two rooms may also be arranged with twin beds upon advance request.
A loft above the living area can accommodate up to two additional guests; however, we recommend this space for teenagers to ensure maximum comfort.
La Batterie is thoughtfully designed for both relaxation and shared moments. The terracotta-tiled living and dining rooms face the sea and open onto a stunning 40-foot teak deck, offering a front-row seat to the Pitons and passing boats below. The dining room seats six and is an ideal setting for memorable Caribbean meals. Guests may arrange private dining with our wonderful in-house chef, Stephanie, for a truly effortless vacation experience. Breakfast can also be enjoyed poolside at the cabana, where the gentle sound of the waterfall sets the tone for a perfect day.
The villa is fully staffed, including two housekeepers, a gardener, pool maintenance, and nighttime security, all included in your rental. For those who wish to dine at the villa, Stephanie works closely with guests to create customized menus based on your preferences. She prepares everything from authentic St. Lucian dishes to American and European favorites with a Creole flair. Meal preparation fees are $15 USD for breakfast and $30 USD for lunch or dinner, plus the cost of ingredients. Grocery shopping can be conveniently arranged by the staff. Please note that the preparation fee is per meal, not per person.
For guest peace of mind, the property is equipped with exterior security cameras located only at entry points such as gates and pathways. There are no cameras inside the villa or in guest living areas, decks, or the pool. Cameras are not actively monitored during guest stays and recordings are reviewed only when necessary for staff verification, weather events, or reported incidents.

The views are stunning. The grounds are equally stunning. We had an amazing time at this villa. We never tired of the views whether looking out at the ocean and pitons or simply at the pool enjoying our time there with the lush plants all around. The thing that makes this place really special outside of the views is the staff; Stephanie, Bibi, Terry, BJ and Clavie. We cannot say enough about their hospitality. They all went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Stephanie and Bibi were so gracious and accommodating. There could not be better hostesses. Terry’s talents are really something to marvel at. We had the amazing opportunity to do the rain forest hike with him and not only learned so much and saw so much beauty, but we also got to see 2 Parrots in flight. BJ was always so pleasant and made sure we knew he was there as he arrived daily. Clavie was able to get us where we needed to be so that we could enjoy so much of the island. By the end of our stay, they all felt like family.
Our favorite things to recommend while on the island:
Hike the Petit Piton with “Mervin the Mountain Goat”
Anse Mamin Beach was our favorite. The snorkeling from the end of Anse Chastanet beach toward Mamin beach was the best on the island.
Our favorite restaurants were Treetop Restaurant and Rabot.

My wife and I stayed here in July of 2023. It's a wonderful property. The views are even more amazing than the pictures show. With all of the staff available, it's like staying at a 5 star resort dedicated to just you.
Stephanie cooking amazing meals and scheduling massages. Clavie driving you where ever you need to go. Bibi cleaning every day. Terry roasting coffee and BK watching over the property at night. All wonderful and very accommodating.
We did walk down the hill to Anse Chastanet to enjoy the beach. We ran into Simon from Simon Says tours and did ziplining, the volcano mud baths and snorkeling through him, which was a great experience as well. Could we have done it all ourselves, yes. But Simon and Simon Jr were great tour guides.
We would love to visit this property during the winter time and enjoy a cooler climate. Summertime can be a bit warmish, but there are plenty of fans to help keep you cool.
I doubt you can find a nicer rental experience on St Lucia. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Our stay at La Batterie was perfect. The staff was great and very accommodating and exceptional during our stay!
I would be remiss if I did not mention the awesome view from the deck of the Batterie. It is right up there with some of the more magnificent places that we have been fortunate to enjoy. It was especially enjoyable fora couple of reasons. I've been sailing the Caribbean for over 40 years and during that period have sailed into the Pitons numerous times. This was a chance to see it from a different very picturesque view.
Also, the first thing I saw from the deck on the first morning was the Royal Clipper at anchor. I remembered seeing it in your picture gallery. It was particularly relevant because less than 2 months ago we made their final voyage of 2017 across the Western Mediterranean before its trans Atlantic voyage to Barbados for the winter. Great memories. Still remember the crew's names.
Thanks for your hospitality. We enjoyed ourselves. We truly hope to return to La Batterie next year and hopefully be able to stay even longer next time around. We will recommend this villa to our other friends as well.
