A grim place to stay

Good dinner on first night

Scruffy, run-down area near Autun, difficult to find. Very basic accommodation, all looking as if it had seen better days. Decor completely lacking charm! Rather morose host.2 nights + 1 dinner and breakfast cost £300+ - not good value for money

Rural authentic French charm

Everything!!! This was a hidden gem, not originally on our agenda and a last minute booking. Wonderful bucolic location, French shabby chic, such a friendly hospitable owner with perfect English and the food we had for the evening meal was worthy of a Michelin star ⭐. We liked the area so much that we are definitely planning a return visit. Autun town is charming and the Roman amphitheatre and cathedral well worth a visit.

exceptionally accommodating host

The hotel is undergoing renovation and is a little under-whelming on arrival. However, once greeted by the extremely hospitable host, Frederick, we felt completely at ease. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We enjoyed a delicious dinner, served in the garden, accompanied by classic wines. Frederick has worked in both London and Paris and knows the art of service. He also speaks impeccable English. A charming, inexpensive hotel.

Good base to explore Autun and its neighborhood

A nice Hotel with a charming and very friendly host. The rooms are just the right size and very quiet. Also the breakfast is very good. There is free parking in the hotel's garden. The city center is in walking distance of appr. 20-30 minutes.

Nice room and comfortable bed, with a typical french breakfast (coffee, orange juice, croissant, jams, cheese, ...). Easy to find, room to park the car, and with a decent in-house restaurant so you don't have to go into town if you don't want to. Excellent for a short stay while passing through or when visiting Autun.

The bed was extremely comfortable. The room was spacious. The bathroom was clean.

No air conditioning in our room. I need to wear a mask because I have sleep apnea..no electric plug near the bed but on the other side of the room. Toiletries very limited with just soap available. Obliged to leave the windows open to cool the room, fortunately the night cooled down. The chef apparently was taken ill with over heating consequently only available was a hard Charolais meat with some French fries. The special Delice du Moulin was mediocre.....and the price for all that was 133 Euros... Given the exceptional heat, it would have been a generous and humane gesture to offer a bottle of cold water for each person but you see, this is France whose hospitality still needs development...

Accueil chaleureux, cadre exquis, chambre sobre et très confortable. Literie grand luxe, confort exceptionnel, une nuit sur un nuage. Bravo pour la qualité de la literie. Dîner et petit déjeuner très copieux, hôtelier très à l’écoute et très efficace. Je recommande cet établissement 👍

Fijn sfeervol hotelletje. Lekker eten in de tuin s’avonds. Ruime badkamer en lekker bed. Mooie plek, je loopt zo naar de Temple de Janus. Bijzonder!

Als je aankomt dan lijkt het een beetje verlaten maar eenmaal via de tuin naar binnen, is het een kleine oase. Eigenaar is bezig met herstel werkzaamheden na grote overstroming vorig jaar.

Ontspannen en kalme overnachting.

Locatie, de gastheer Frederic (zeer aimabel en gastvrij) aangename en ontspannen sfeer, kwaliteit van wijn & diner en heerlijk dineren in prettige tuin. Verder voldoende ruime kamer met een prima bed. Makkelijk parkeren bij het hotel.

Badkamer en sanitaire voorzieningen verdienen echt een update/upgrade.

Ein guter Ort für Leute, die sich abseits der üblichen Wege ausruhen wollen

Man sitzt sehr schön im Garten und wir vom Pensionsbetreiber persönlich und rustikal bedient. Einen perfekten Service darf man nicht erwarten, aber einen entspannten Abend bei Wasserfallgeglucker.

Wenn man um 16 Uhr ankommt, hat man Schwierigkeiten, den Eingang zu finden. Das ist kein Top-Hotel, sondern eine private Übernachtung für Individualtouristen. Uns hat's sehr gefallen, aber: Man sollte nicht den Manta bestellen, denn der hat unglaublich viele Gräten. Das Frühstück ist bescheiden, aber der Übernachtungspreis ja auch.
