The caravan is well equipped and had everything we needed for our stay. It was clean in the sense that the surfaces, plates and cupboards etc were clean. I liked that there was plastic cutlery for the kids, washing up liquid and a cloth left. Bathrooms also very clean and the shower was good. Heating all worked which is just aswell as it was a bit chilly over night.
The site itself is nice and quiet, very family friendly and the owner was communicative in organising our stay so I did feel like i knew where i was going, how to get access etc. The information provided was excellent and the owner was responsive.
I did have an issue with the carpet and sofa in the living room which looked filthy. So much so that i just couldn’t relax properly in the evening and really put me off sitting in the lounge area.
A carpet shampoo could easily have made this better and would have made the stay a lot more comfortable.
I also don’t like the feeling that everything was very dated and past its best; sheets on the bed, pillows, the plates, the accessories dotted about… it maybe just needs a little thought about how to bring it into 2025.
Charging £20 per person for a towel bundle felt excessive; wouldn’t mind £10 as i know it’s a hassle to clean them but £20 was over the top. And charges for things like a high chair/ cot… we have stayed on other caravans where all of this was provided. Also, maybe a bar of soap and some tea bags to get you started would be a nice touch? I am aware that there’s costs involved in doing this but it would feel a little more welcoming.
We discovered on day 2 that there were no batteries in the fire alarm and despite efforts to replace, this didn’t happen. The owner did try to remedy this when we realised but it didn’t get resolved the week we were there. Batteries left at the door would have been fine.
