About this house rental
This beautiful house has one of the best views on all of Lake Hickory! Complete with a new chefs kitchen, a Master Bedroom on the main, two more bedrooms and a rec room down below it is a perfect getaway for a relaxing escape. Both the covered porch and paver fire pit patio are wonderful places to enjoy lake life. It is the perfect place to relax and watch the stresses of regular life disappear! Incredible views of the lake from all bedrooms and all of the comforts of home. Our home is located on the main channel with over 110 feet of water frontage.
Our home features a Chef’s kitchen with all stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. Including blender, crock pot, toaster, Keurig, coffee pot, pots/pans, bakeware and dishware. Plus plenty of different types glasses for your favorite beverage and we didn’t forgot the corkscrew either! You won't even need to pack any spices, there is a spice rack with all the spices to cook up your favorite meal. We have a brand new propane grill just outside the kitchen with beautiful views of the lake while you cook! Our large farm style table seats up to 10 adults, with additional eating area at the kitchen island, also a table outside under the covered porch, and a picnic area downstairs- all with spectacular lake views!
We picked only the best mattresses for all of the beds with clean, soft sheets and big fluffy towels. We want you to feel pampered and spoiled!
Our basement rec room is fun for all ages with an air hockey/ping pong table, game table for cards and board games, comfy couch, TV, wet bar, additional fridge and microwave. The door opens fully to have a great lake view while you are playing games and enjoying time with family and friends.
At the dock there are several flotation devices to float on. The water is 18’ deep at the dock, so diving and cannon balls are a must! Take a ride on our kayaks and look for the many turtles, or do some fishing off the dock. We have a few fishing poles available for your use. Our family loves to tie all of our floats together and hang out in the water all day!
Enjoy your evenings sitting by the fire in the comfy Adirondack chairs, perfect for the summer evenings and cool winter evenings as well. The lake is beautiful all year long! There are four chaise lounges with comfy cushions to either curl up with a good book, or work on your summer tan! Feel free to browse our library of books, or trade with your own! We also provide Wifi and internet service as well as a DVD player.
Lake Hickory is one the largest freshwater sand bottom lakes in North Carolina. Lake Hickory was created on the Catawba River in 1927 with the completion of the Oxford Dam 11 miles (18 km) northeast of Hickory. The dam parallels the NC Highway 16 bridge over the Catawba River between Interstate 40 and Taylorsville. It is 122 feet (37 m) high, with an overall length of 1,200 feet (370 m). The spillway section of the dam is 550 feet (170 m) long. The lake was named after the City of Hickory and runs along its northern edge. It covers almost 4,223 acres (17.09 km2) with 105 miles (169 km) of shoreline. Full pond elevation is 935 feet above sea level. It is perfect for those who love to swim, ski, tube, boat or enjoy some of the finest fishing in the area. The lake is home to many different species of fish including Striper bass, largemouth and spotted bass, crappie, lake perch, bluegill, sunfish as well as a variety of catfish. Water quality is very good and fed by mountain springs. We are conveniently located about 1 hour from Charlotte, 1 hour from Asheville (home of the Biltmore Estate!), 45 minutes from Blowing Rock and about 3 1/2 hours from the coast. Beautiful mountain views from the lake!
As far as sports are concerned, Hickory is home to the Hickory Crawdads, a Class-A South Atlantic League minor-league baseball affiliate of the Texas Rangers. The Crawdads play in L.P. Frans Stadium located in the western portion of the city, near the Hickory Regional Airport.
Hickory is also home to the Hickory Motor Speedway, nationally known as the Birthplace of the NASCAR Stars. The speedway was opened in 1951 and features a 1/2 mile track with seating for approximately 5,000 spectators.
The Dusty Ridge State Park is a great park and public boat launch less than a mile from the house.

We had a lovely birthday weekend at the lake! Eventhough we had a snow storm there was no other place to be with the breathtaking views and the warm welcoming home.

Travis and Leesa were wonderful hosts and made every effort to ensure our 4-night stay was enjoyable and very comfortable. My husband suffers from severe breathing allergies and they went out of their way to clean and eliminate any strong fragrances and chemical cleaner odors in the house. We were so appreciative of their attention to our special request and it helped to make our stay stress free and relaxing.As advertised, the sunsets were mesmerizing and uniquely beautiful each evening (it was worth the trip just to see those)!! As a bonus, even though Lakeside Marina was closed on Tuesday, they opened up just for us and we rented us a boat for an afternoon so we could cruise around Lake Hickory. The perfect way to spend and 80 degree day in October!We had a marvelous time and we hope to make this an annual trip each October with our friends when our sons attend Camp Blue Skies in Boomer NC.We want to extend a warm thank-you to the Rofflers for hosting us at Amazing Grace!
