About this villa rental
Set among orange,lemon and eucalyptus trees, a beautifully made estate comprising of two semidetached stone villas, offers the perfect place for relaxation!The villa is designed, built and furnished with extreme attention to detail, in a child-friendly environment yet offering high quality living.
The beautiful stone villa comprises of two attached wings, each featuring fully equipped kitchen, dining and living room. There are six en suite bedrooms all together, two located on the ground floor and four on the first floor.
The large swimming pool is complimented with poolside terraces, sunbeds and umbrellas.For large groups or families travelling together, the superb villa is offering immense space and discrete privacy without missing out on companionship.
On this ground level, there are two large double bedrooms with en suite shower room.
On the first floor, there are two large double and two twin bedrooms, each with en suite shower room, large terraces with comfy furniture and views to the White mountains and the fertile plateau of Armeni.
The sandy beach and village of Kalives is located within a fifteen minute walk or a very short drive and to the south side of the villa, village Armeni with its renown tavernas and cafes is just 500 meters walk.

HOW TO REACH KALIVES ORCHARD VILLAS FROM CHANIA AIRPORT
Take the road out of HaniaAirport and continue on this road for about 3 kms. Turn right at the signpost (roundabout) to Hania and keep on this road until you see a sign for Souda (roundabout). Take the left fork and go down a steep winding road. Stay on this road for 6 kms till you reach a built-up area with a kiosk on the left. When you reach a set of traffic lights (INKA supermarket on your right), turn right. After 200 metres turn left onto the main road from Souda, signposted to Rethymnon. After 300 metres take slip road on the left, signposted to Rethymnon.
Stay on the motorway for about 10 kms. Turn left at the second sign to Kalives Be careful as this is a high speed two lane motorway. Take the sliproad and turn right (signposted to Armeni)
Continue for 900meters approximately, until on your RIGHT you will see the villa private gates (there is also a long bamboo fence after the gates).

The villa is in a fantastic location with lovely gardens and a huge terrace with sunbeds. The views are fantastic. We hired cars which were useful for getting to the beach and into Chania. We were a family of mainly adult couples, so the ensuites were useful. They were all on the small side however. The children enjoyed the swimming pool but it was unheated so they were unable to stay in for a long time. The owners/agents were very helpful when a 'Sahara' rainstorm coated the patio, garden furniture and swimming pool with orange sand. They came and jet washed the affected areas and vacuumed the swimming pool 3 days running. There is another house being built next door so the pool was, on occasions, overlooked by builders. In view of this the owners allowed us to stay in the villa, on our last day until 3pm, when we needed to leave for our flight. This was a big help.

Two villas attached, ideal for a large family. Six bedrooms all with ensuite was a bonus although the showers were small. Pool was lovely and kept very clean. Overall standard of each villa was excellent with lots of kitchen utensils/glsses etc.
Slight downside was that the road to the local village where there are excellent tavernas, was busy with no pavement, 15 minute walk.
On the whole we very much enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it, car is essential to get to local beaches.

Nice villas (2 semi detached) but quite dated and a nice sized pool. Odd set up if sharing but worked ok for the12 of us.
Stair banisters were very wide and dangerously not child safe at all. Petros advised that there was plastic netting that could be put up but disappointing and worrying this wasn’t done before our arrival as we had several small children in the party. Not sure why this hasn’t been permanently addressed before now.
The pool was nice but many of the small tiles were missing and some caused small cuts when ‘discovered’ the bottom of the pool.
There was no umbrellas or shade by the pool only under the area where the dining tables were located.
There was also not child friendly crockery (plastic) or beakers.
Bathrooms are very small and some showers and shower doors need mending or replacing.
It seemed like there had been a lack of investment for a few years from the owners

Overall great, and easy walking distance to tavernas and beach. Helpful host in providing taxi numbers etc. not overly modern but still nice!
