I booked my stay last minute because the place I originally planned to stay at had bed bugs. It was more than I would have like to spend for one night, but at least it was clean.

the room was extremely noisy. the noise through the closed window would sometimes drown out my laptop. i thought the window was open when i arrived because how could traffic be that loud on the 8th floor?! i switched rooms on the 2nd day so i was away from the traffic noise, but the sound is even worse on the other side of the building because of the exhaust fans, so i paid extra to move back to the side with the traffic.
they asked me to switch rooms for the 2nd day. i didn't want to switch because it's inefficient for the hotel and for me. they told me to come to the front desk to switch at the regular check-out time, then they told me to wait for hours until the regular check-in time. i asked if i could wait in the previous room until the next room is ready, but they said no. i didn't expect to have to wait so long, so i started taking my morning supplements with water and the manager said no eating and drinking. i told him i felt dehumanized by his overly strict adherence to his arbitrary rules and lack of consideration towards my feelings, and he walked away without replying. i didn't yell or anything. i was upset, but after he walked away, i just put my water and supplements away and sat there quietly. i even walked outside in the rain to drink a sip from my water bottle, and after i sat back down in the lobby, the police showed up. he called the police because i was eating and drinking in the lobby, which i didn't do after he asked me once to stop. i think he was just mad that i told him he was treating me like an object. 1 of the police even apologized for his behavior. they should've charged him for wasting their time and taxpayer money.
the hotel was mostly clean. there's a york supermarket and aeon mall ~1.4km away and closer stores like donki that sell food & drinks. i implore you to choose a different hotel so you don't get tinnitus.
