Bouctouche Bay Inn

The breakfast was good with scrambled eggs and bacon/sausage. The hotel is close to Akadi Lumina.

The room was larger than most so was wonderful to have space. Looks like it was renovated not too long ago-the floors were lovely.

Needed a blind or privacy curtain to the winder. Just had a see through curtain so people could see in at night and the deck lights were in my eyes all night.

The property is located on the edge of the road, about 2 minutes from Bouctouche centre. The proprietor and the team were spending long hours getting everything ready for the coming season with grass cutting, hanging baskets, internal fittings etc. From what i could see they were making a very professional job of it. About a minute and a half away towards the town there is a gas station with shop and launderette. The washing machine and dryer both take 2x$1 coins. There is no change machine, but the staff are willing to change notes if needed. Almost opposite the gas station is an information centre, which is staffed by very nice bi lingual personnel. The only negative thing was a starling that was looking at building a nest in the air vent linked to the bathroom. It was rattling around the vent from first light

There was no one there when we arrived and no one answered the phone number on the door nor the one on the website so we left and reserved another motel online Half an hour later we got a message with a code. I called the owner and said we had another motel. She said she would arrange for a refund. Not a great experience but it is off season.
