Namaqua Flowers Beach Camp

Extraordinary location and experience to stay at this camp literally on the beach in the wilderness. It is a ‘glamping’ experience and they have done their best to make it as comfortable as possible.

We should’ve had a 4x4 car which we were not aware was needed. we could not travel around far from the camp due to soft sand. The road to get there is also very corrugated and without a 4x4 we had to drive very slowly. Meals are also a communal affair and if there are only 2 of you you have to sit with strangers which is fine but it would be nice to have the option.

I think they should provide more activities or a better flower experience - they have a flower guide but we never met him and they should really just do a 15 min intro and short walk around the camp to point out a few special things and perhaps explain why this year wasn’t great for flowers in this region. You basically figure it out yourself and other guests gave us tips and advice. For this price I expected a bit more of an effort. I got the impression all the staff were a bit burnt out at the end of the season
