Apartamento na Praia

Amplio apartamento en magnífica situación y con buenas vistas hacia la playa de Carvoeiro y su plaza central. Terraza pequeña pero cómoda para dos personas y patio en la parte trasera amplio y con barbacoa.

Todo OK. Parece que se reformará en breve.

It was very run down, the host didn’t mention the washing machine was out of order (didn’t offer to fix it or offer an alternative eg launderette and pay for it). Cockroach poo on kitchen bench. We understand cockroaches are near the coast but it appeared the apartment hadn’t been checked before our arrival. It would have been nice to have had some basics, such as salt and pepper, like all the ither places we stayed.

Die Lage ist toll und der Balkon vorne raus, super. Wer es etwas ruhiger haben möchte kann die große hintere Terrasse nutzen. Wie man auf den Bildern sieht, ist die Wohnung "portugisisch" eingerichtet und alles vorhanden. Maria die Vermieterin ist sehr sehr nett und hilfsbereit, Danke! Der Reinigungs- und Wäscheservice nach einer Woche war sehr angenehm.

Excellent location if you stay in Carvoeiro. Amazing views from the balcony, and we enjoyed free concerts every night right from it. Beach nearby is great and clean, all famous walks are close by, plenty of restaurants and mini-markets. Spacious apartment for a family - 2 bedrooms plus a good size lounge, plenty of space for everyone, but we were all hanging out next to the balcony for obvious reasons. Clean apartment - you could tell the host prepared for the arrival, and communication with the host was good.

Washing machine was not working - not helpful when you go on long hikes and to the beach almost every day mid-summer, and this had not been communicated in advance. We also had issues with the stove top which wasn't working. The owner said they had tested it and everything had been fine before our arrival so we did not follow up. We ended up using only the kettle to boil water and did not cook because of that. Cockroaches came up as unpleasant surprise - I woke up in the middle of the night because something was crawling on my head, and I knocked it off. We found a dead cockroach in our bedroom next morning. Another one was crawling on the floor the night before we left. We haven't stayed long enough for this to become an irritating experience, but I did question my sleeping safety because of the first night. Also, we noticed a strange smell in the apartment when it was locked while we were away and then came back. I suspect it came from the pipes, but it's hard to tell. The apartment had a note claiming the property would be renovated soon, so I hope it will get a second life - it is a lovely place and deserves love and care.
