B&B del Giglio

Out of the commercial area, but very close, with gentle hill, so very convenient. Different decor. Wouldn't like it at home, but made a change!

The 'double' bed was small, probably140cm, making it quite restrictive. The bathroom handle door kept coming off, and one could easily get locked in.

The B&B is an easy 3 minute walk from the train station. It is gated accommodation that's set back from the street so it felt very private. The room decor, styled to look quaint old fashioned but obviously newly decorated with careful attention to detail with some expensive touches. The bathroom had nice scents, soft towels and styled decor with body wash etc included. The bed was very comfortable and the lighting was sparkly and interesting. There was a little kettle with some tea and coffee available. There were also glass, wine glasses. There was a small dining table and two chairs in the corner of the room that made a nice spot to enjoy a drink in the cool. The air conditioning worked well and there was a small fridge in the room. Outside was a patio garden area for guests, with small tables and accompanying chairs. In the evening someone put stylish little solar lamps on the tables so you could enjoy the evening outside. There were 'ladder' drying racks leaning against a wall for guests to hang beachwear to dry discreetly and there were bins outdoors to put your rubbish in. The garden had lovely citrus trees and colourful hanging blossoms which gave a tranquil feeling to the area.

I loved our short stay here but found the lady who checked us in to be less welcoming than I'd hoped. She said she was covering for her daughter who usually does the check in and maybe this was reflected in her demeanor. We had to pay the tourist tax immediately and in cash, luckily we had enough small change with us. The doors to the room were french doors with shutters on the outside. The shutters were self locking when you closed them but I found the lock very tricky to open each time to get back into our room.

Didn't take it as €10 per day and local facility cheaper

Bedding/linen not changed during my 10 night stay. Very small room, no drawers, very narrow shelves for underwear, jumpers etc in bathroom.
