About this country house rental
A 19th century farmhouse with spacious accommodation on one level with1/2 ha of private garden with a large pool. Perfect rural and private setting approximately 3kms from Aignan, a pretty historic fortified town with a good selection of shops, bars and a good traditional restaurant. Centrally located to explore St Mont vineyards and rural villages and markets.
The entrance door leads into the spacious hallway with a modern lounge with exposed beams and French doors leading to the terrace. The lounge also has a comfortable sofa and chairs. An archway leads through to a well equipped dining kitchen area, which has French doors leading to the terrace and can also be accessed from the hallway.
There are 4 double bedrooms. To the right of the hallway the first double bedroom has exposed beams and stonework and a large feature fireplace with wood burner. It also has a double sofabed for use if required. The second double bedroom has an open fireplace . This bedroom has a connecting door through to the large modern tiled bathroom with bath, separate shower, sink and WC. The bathroom is also accessed from the hallway. At the end of the hallway is the separate guest WC and a laundry/utility room.
From the hallway, stairs lead to a newly completed second floor with 2 more double bedrooms over looking the terrace and swimming pool, 2 seating areas and an office area. There is a further full bathroom with a shower. House is beautifully decorated with high quality furnishings. All bed linen and towels are provided.
At the rear of the property leading off the kitchen and living room there is a large delightful terrace with wooden table and sun umbrella, ideal for outside dining. The terrace overlooks the private 11m large pool and garden. The pool has a sunbathing area which is very well equipped with sun lounges and a large covered terrace with another outdoor table for afternoon eating and table tennis area. There are lovely views across countryside. There is a third outdoor dining area with a large wooden table by the barn for evening meals by the orchard. Lazy afternoons in the hammock are also a must!
All in all a charming and very comfortable property in a peaceful location, rural but not isolated, yet ideally situated for visiting the many sites of the local area.

The house is beautiful, in stones and has been refurbished respectfully of its Gascony style, surrounded by a large garden, with a well-equipped kitchen, and well taken care of thanks to the dedicated, responsive and friendly support of the persons in charge, namely Paula & Roy.
The area offers numerous sightseeing options, such as Flaran abbey, La Romieu, Larressingle, Lupiac, Condom, Montréal, Pau, Lourdes as well as tasty eating-out options, and is covered by vineyards.
Our children will keep lovely memories of our stay in this house. We hope we will have another opportunity to enjoy it.

We have just returned from a wonderful two week stay at this beautiful property. The property, grounds and swimming pool are all you could hope for and situated in a lovely rural setting. Lovely little towns and villages nearby and equally nice traditional restaurants. We very much appreciated the generous welcome pack that awaited us on our arrival. Paula and Roy were very kind and we found the property in an immaculate condition. We have holidayed in France for many years and by far the best house we have stayed at in the Gers region. We very much look forward to returning.

The house is lovely – comfortable and well-appointed – and we’ve stayed several times before and loved it. It also has a great swimming pool, but this year there were problems. The pump had broken down 2 days before we arrived; we were given no prior notice of this, and although a repair/new pump were promised after we complained, it was not repaired during our 2-week stay. A robot vacuum was installed but the pool was never properly clean enough for us to be comfortable about swimming in it (not least because we regularly had to scoop out dead mice and frogs that had fallen into it overnight). Disappointing, when the temperature was in the low 30s most days. The owners refused us any compensation for this, although they were prompt to charge us for ‘wear and tear’ on a patio umbrella that clearly had a faulty winding mechanism, and eventually jammed when I was trying to take it down (ironically to save it from being damaged by an imminent storm). Though the house is advertised as having wifi (and Netflix) we had endless problems with it, at one point losing connection entirely for 4 days, despite calling a helpline, and rebooting regularly.
