Giritligil Hotel

Nice hotel in Manisa downtown , free underground parking is a big plus!

The hotel is located right in the city centre and looks superior outside and inside. The size of the room was good and it was pleasantly furnished, everything was spotlessly clean. My room facing the back was very quiet and the bed was comfortable, the floor was nice and soft. There's a fridge with a minibar, a room safe and enough space for all the baggage. The breakfast buffet was simply phenomenal with a huge variety of delicious items and with daily variations. There's no need for lunch after such an overwhelming breakfast. With one exception, the staff was great and all of the receptionists spoke English. Last but not least, I was able to store my bicycle inside the hotel. Extended for two more days, because I really liked it there.

The receptionist at check-out wasn't very helpful. I had a flat tire with my bicycle and he didn't offer any help or asked if I'd need something. Even though I didn't, I'd still expect this to be offered out of politeness. Maybe he was disappointed with the tip, at least that's what it looked like (400 TL for the reception and 950 TL for all staff altogether, btw).

Great location, interesting breakfast venue above an excavated Ottoman public bath, and very obliging staff……..but

There was a serious water leak in the bathroom in our room (no. 302). Frankly, the room should not be available to guests until the leak has been fixed. (We were offered a room change after our first night, but we opted to stay put for our second, and last, night as we were otherwise settled in.)
