About this apartment rental
English-style mansion built in 1939 by the rich old owner Sir. Robert Pretty Barlow, admirer of beauty and good living. A precursor of modern gay culture, he hosted writers, painters and illustrious travelers. He himself a traveler, helped to make Taormina known to many of his countrymen and others.
The apartment is located on the first floor of the house in a very central and panoramic position, overlooking the Etna, the Bay of Giardini Naxos and the Badia Vecchia, one of the most significant monuments of the city.

Everything about our stay was five star.Furio and Paola did everything to make the stay wonderful. Arranged for Parking, allowed us to check in in the morning. Called in dinner reservations as well as arrange a private tour. Highly recommend this apartment for cleanliness and location. A little noisy in the morning but nothing crazy.

Badia Vecchia was everything we wanted and expected...even more! Furio & Paola were fabulous hosts - welcoming and orienting us, helping with (too much / too heavy) luggage, being sure we had plenty of water and coffee, providing restaurant recommendations, both in Taormina and our other planned Sicily stops. The apartment was immaculate, well equipped and nearly perfectly located. We're happy to recommend to future Taormina travelers. Thank you Furio and Paola!!Nora & FredMay 2026

Firstly Paola and Furio were amazing hosts. So kind, hospitable and helpful and very responsive if you ever need anything.
The apartment itself was located in an amazing spot, everything is on your doorstep (after stepping down some steep steps). The views from both rooms are exceptional of both the sea and Mount Etna. The kitchen is well equipped (no dishwasher). Everything was very clean and we felt very safe there. Accessibility point: lots of steps to get into the property which is very common all over the town).

The appartment is very well situated. Furio , the host, was very kind and helpfull. He did everything for our happiness. The valet for the car is easy.
