I spent 4 nights at Maneaters toward the end of my Kenya trip. Such an amazing place to relax and unwind, the river facing units are all complemented by a spacious balcony area overlooking Tsavo East (and the river). Food was great and the staff were awesome. Also felt super cool being so close to the original Man-eating Lions of Tsavo story as I’d been well aware of this story for a long time.
The only thing I would add is that for solo travellers who have not yet managed to get out on safari, this property not as solo-friendly in this aspect. I had previously stayed in Tsavo West and been on several game drives, so this wasn’t a major issue for me as I was happy to just chill and observe wildlife from the property grounds. However, if this was not the case, the lack of opportunity to explore shared safari would have probably been an issue for me.

Animals! Massive croc. They allow dogs. Perfect half way stop between coast and Nairobi

Maneaters is a good alternative for those who can’t afford to stay inside Tsavo National Park, location is good for Tsavo East and West.
Tents are very nice and the balcony overlooking the river is great
beds could have been more comfortable and the doors didn’t close easily
