Voi Wildlife Lodge

We really enjoyed our stay at Voi Wildlife Lodge. The location is fantastic – very close to the park gate, which was especially convenient travelling with our 18-month-old as we could easily get back to the lodge to rest after a game drive. The staff were lovely, particularly the catering staff and chefs. This was actually the only place during our trip where a member of staff specifically asked whether they could prepare something separately for our baby if she didn't like anything from the buffet. We didn't need to take them up on the offer because there was already a great selection of tasty food, but as parents we really appreciated being asked. The room was comfortable and having a fridge and kettle was very useful for preparing our baby's food and milk. The staff were also always around and happy to help – when we needed assistance with our suitcases from the top floor, someone helped us without us even having to ask. We also loved the setting of the lodge. Being able to sit and eat while watching wildlife around the water was such a lovely experience – we saw a hippo in the water and other animals around the lodge. It really added to the safari experience and we actually wished we had stayed longer! Also, a small thing, but I really appreciated the bidet spray in the bathroom – so practical, especially when travelling with a baby!

The bathrooms could do with some updating, although for our short stay this didn't bother us too much. A small microwave in the room would also have been extremely useful, particularly for families with babies, as it would have made sterilising bottles much easier. There was also no telephone in our room. We were advised not to leave the room at night without a guard because of wildlife in the area, so having a phone to contact reception would have been reassuring if we had needed anything during the night. Thankfully we didn't, and during the day there were always staff around who were very helpful. Rooms also need more sockets. I had to keep taking the kettle switch off to charge phones because I didn’t want to switch fridge off.

Les chambres sont assez rustiques, murs très fins on entend tout dans les autres chambres, le matelas est très dur et inconfortable , il y a beaucoup d’insectes. Le buffet est assez bon mais très restreint.
