Casa Carole is a newly refurbished, designer, 3 bedroom apartment at the entrance to the pretty village of Bubion in the heart of the High Alpujarra, Andalucia, Spain. This is a large spacious apartment which has been refurbished and decorated to the highest standard and has lovingly blended the luxury of modern day life whilst maintaining the traditional Alpujarranean architectural features.The apartment has access to a large shared swimming pool and offers 3 double bedrooms, (one en-suite) , one large family bathroom, a spacious kitchen and dining area and a very spacious living room - for convenience all on one floor. The apartment also offers WiFi, and central heating. There are fantastic views of the Poquiera Valley from the apartment and onward views to the coast and on a clear autumn/winter day you can see the Mediterranean and the Riff Mountains off the African Coast. Activities available on your doorstep are: swimming, horse riding, cycling, walking. The swimming pool is large and there is ample room for sunbathing. There are plenty of bars and restaurants in Bubion and the nearby village of Capileira.
The Barranco del Poqueira is one of the most visited natural spaces in the province of Granada. This impressive ravine in the southern slope of Sierra Nevada range, descending from the Veleta peak, has three beautiful villages on its mountain hillside- Capileira, Bubion and Pampaneira. Bubion has the main characteristics of the villages of the Alpujarra region, that is, a singular architecture of the houses, perfectly adapted to the rugged ground and the climate of the area. They are built along narrow streets with a touch of their Moorish past. The village dates back to Roman times but is perhaps more famous for its Moorish origins. Hence the classic architecture of the village, identical to Berber originals in the Atlas mountains of Northern Africa. Characterised by flat roofs and prominent chimney pots, the houses spill down the steep mountainside, connected by little walkways and a narrow, winding, cobbled street with lively restaurants and bars.

Casa Carole es una amplia vivienda de vacaciones en Bubión, uno de los tres pueblos situados en el precioso enclave del Barranco del Poqueira. La casa está situada a la entrada del pueblo, por lo que acceder a ella es realmente fácil. La casa está muy bien cuidada. En la cocina hay todo tipo de electrodomésticos y utensilios que el huésped pueda necesitar. Tras la cocina hay una despensa donde se encuentra la lavadora, otro fregadero y otros artículos como una trona. El salón es muy cómodo y tiene unas bonitas vistas. La decoración de los dormitorios y los baños está igualmente cuidada. Frente a lo que ocurre en otras casas de vacaciones, aquí se proporciona papel higiénico, gel, balletas, lavavajillas, estropajos, paños, etc. para toda la estancia.
Una parte de la vivienda de la que disfrutamos especialmente (en el desayuno o para tomar un café a lo largo del día) es la mesa y sillas que se encuentran en el exterior de la misma, con unas impresionantes vistas.
El proceso de reserva fue muy sencillo y Maggie responde rápidamente a todas las preguntas. La persona que nos facilitó el acceso a la vivienda, Mª Dolores, es también encantadora y siempre dispuesta a ayudar con usa sonrisa.
Sin lugar a dudas, volveríamos a hospedarnos aquí, por lo que recomendamos esta casa de vacaciones.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour à Bubion. L'accueil a été excellent, l'appartement est très spacieux, très bien équipé et très confortable. Après nos randonnées, nous avons apprécié la piscine et la vue sur les montagnes.

We had a lovely holiday due to the stunning mountains and the 3 small villages, of which Bubion is in the middle, with lovely restaurants, tapas and souvenir shops. The locals were all friendly, helpful and appreciated my basic Spanish. Sadly though, there was not much help offered in trying to find things to do. We have two active boys who loved the pool but this was up several flights of steps and was not open during the siesta time. We spent a day looking for a river to picnic by and play in, but couldn't locate it. We drove to the ancient city of Granada but the heat there got to all of us and was too much for my ailing parents and boys. We had to ask for clean linen rather than this being done as a matter of course. There was no contact made with us by the owners to check everything was OK or to offer advice, inform of local events etc. So we missed one of the many fiestas and a fish delivery. We found, through Trip Advisor, a Tea Garden in Orgiva run by an English family which was delightful.
All in all, we wanted a truly Spanish get away up in the Alpujaren mountains which is what we got. It was very good value for a well appointed apartment but feel too much time was spent sitting in it rather than enjoying the environment and culture.
