I loved the aesthetic, the breakfast was great , also the staff were helpful and always ready to assist . The night was cold so we were offered hot water bottles and the fireplace was lit up for us in the rooms and the breakfast area .

The white lady who I think is the manager , she tailed us while we were busy taking pictures in the morning before checkout . Constantly monitoring our movement , I think she thought we hadn’t checked out the room when we have already . Also , even though she appeared friendly , her behaviour made us uncomfortable. We asked if it’s possible to come In the following day for a few more pictures but she refused and said the guesthouse will be fully booked . I doubt she would’ve treated her people the same way she treated us. The other staff at the guesthouse were lovely , friendly , respectful and accommodating .

The actual property, room and gardens were lovely.

The management front of house really let it down. To them it's a 9-5 job with no hospitality or soul. In the morning she was totally uninterested in us, her guests. We arrived before 5.30pm and the reception was shut. Someone was standing with a key and took us to our room and said the Manager would see us in the morning. We went to breakfast just after 8am as the reception was still locked up. Such a shame we stayed for two nights and it was one the most expensive of our time on the garden route ... And yet the only ones who weren't friendly, helpful or having an open decent reception time for guests. Also it was the only place we stayed at that didn't provide bottled water in the rooms. It all looks lovely but is soulless, such a disappointment.
