Kinabalu Poring Vacation Lodge

Jay and his parents, Jeannie and Mr. Chua, welcomed us and invited us for delicious fried bananas when we first arrived and also invited us for a tasty farewell breakfast. We enjoyed talking and visiting with them very much. A very hospitable family. We ordered takeout dinners and Jay offered to get them when the takeout was too busy to bring them. Their property has lovely trees and gardens and waterways with fish. There is a large covered deck with eating area, kitchen area and refrigerator. We enjoyed the 20 minute walk to Poring Hot Springs along a small pretty road with bananas, cocoa, palms etc growing. We also enjoyed the walk down to the river. Our room was basic but clean and serviceable with air conditioning. We spent 4 nights here and felt very much at home.,

Lovely lovely host. Very friendly healthy looking cats to greet us each day.Nice garden.

Everything was nice but I felt it was a little overpriced

Owner was very friendly. 5 mins to Poring hot spring.

Feels a bit run down. Could do with a bit of tidying up especially at reception and the hang out area (there were bedsheets strewn on chairs). The hot water shower needs to be checked and repaired. As the common area is out in the open, there were lots of insects, suggest putting insect repellants or light up some mosquito coils. But primarily, please do housekeeping and tidy up.
