About this castle / palace rental
Guests have said that staying in Kinblethmont House is just like having your own stately home for the weekend and there is certainly a Downton Abbey feel about the place. You will find that a holiday in Kinblethmont House is an unforgettable experience whether you are a group of families holidaying together, old friends reuniting for a 50th birthday or a destination wedding group. It is the combination of grandeur, fun, comfort and homeliness with beautiful gardens that make it truly unique. Whatever your group, from the moment you book you will be in safe hands as we will be on hand to help you with your plans and help make sure your stay is unique and enjoyable as possible.
The 14 bedrooms grouped in several different areas of the house vary from the very large and grand with 4 poster beds in the South wing to the more modest in the East wing. All the bedrooms however are very comfortable and come with towelling bath robes, hairdryers and USB sockets. The 9 bathrooms range from shower rooms to splendid chill-out rooms with deep Victorian baths.
There are several areas to relax - from the grand drawing room and quiet sitting room upstairs to the spacious lower ground floor area with TV, snooker and table tennis that opens up onto the terrace.
For self caterers we have made every effort to make catering for a large group easier. A well equipped kitchen with AGA and conventional cooker and every mod con, a walk in fridge, plenty or food storage and professional dish and glasswashers that take only a few minutes (really!!). The shops and supermarkets in Arbroath are only a short drive away – very convenient for those last minute top-ups. For those wanting a special catered meal or more we have a varied list of caterers we can introduce you to – whatever you are looking for, I’m sure there will be something to suit.
There is so much to do you in the area you will be spoilt for choice. Staying on the estate there is music, snooker and table tennis in the house, croquet, BBQ’s and private lawns around the house and lots of walks, some with splendid views around the estate. Off the estate there are beaches, castles, boat trips, distilleries, visitor attractions – plenty to chose from and we are always on hand to offer recommendations and advice.

All house lets include linen, towels, bathrobes, electricity, central heating and logs for fires. We can also arrange child and baby furniture (cots, high chairs etc)
For those wanting some help with catering we have contacts that can provide special meals, some food for you to put in the oven or full catering - just ask and we will put you in touch with one of our excellent local caterers

We stayed for a week with our family for a wedding and it was amazing!! Highly recommend for large group gatherings.

We were a family of 16 adults, 7 children and one baby gathering from round the world. Kinblethmont provided a wonderful large home away from home. Everything we needed was provided and the grounds as well as the house are beautiful. We had fantastic weather which, of course, made things even better. Several of us swam at glorious Lunan Bay, walked the Arbroath Cliff Path, visited Glamis Castle and a few took the train to Edinburgh. We had arranged catering with Sinclair's for the adult evening meals which was a luxury but well worth it. There was plenty to do in the house itself (table tennis, snooker, chess, solitaire (several boards) and outside there was a playground, loads of hiding places for fun filled games, badminton, etc. Bird feeders could be viewed from the kitchen and the outside seating was used in the day and evening - it was glorious. Thank you for this delightful opportunity to bring our family together!

Americans & Brits all met for a large family reunion at Kinblethmont! The stay was perfect. Communication with Jess & Gem was easy, helpful and kind. The house was absolutely beautiful and always had exactly what was needed- an extra tablecloth, an immersion blender, sharp kitchen knives, etc! Local recommendations from Gem were all spot on as well. A glorious stay!

This property is amazing! the grounds are so beautiful. the rooms are beautiful. We were a party of 14 and there was plenty of room for us all. Jessica was on Holiday so we worked with Gemma who was fantastic, She stayed in touch to make sure we had everything we needed which we did!!! I cannot recommend this property enough. Don't hesitate......book it
