Wonderful location, very close to downtown & walking to everything needed. On the first night, a little dog was bothering the neighborhood, but the hotel staff was very prompt and changed the rooms to accommodate us and give us a restful sleep. Great breakfast & good coffee.

The location
1-star review for Hotel Griff Zalău (supposedly 4-star but deserves 1 star at best):
I was extremely disappointed with my stay here. The hotel is nothing like a 4-star property. The carpets were absolutely filthy, stained and disgusting. The walls were dirty as well, and the curtains were shockingly grimy—I’ve never stayed in such a dirty hotel in my life.
The bed and pillows were extremely uncomfortable, making it impossible to get a decent night’s sleep.
At checkout, no one bothered to ask how my stay was. Instead, they were only interested in making sure I paid for the mini-bar and the stay itself. Guest experience clearly doesn’t matter to them at all.
Overall, I would absolutely not recommend this hotel to anyone. It deserves 1 star at most.
