Nice location in countryside

The property's concept is to provide with exposure to Serbian countryside and Serbian customs, hence, Etno Selo (ethnic village). The hotel is located some 5 km from the small town Velika Plana, and can be reached from Belgrade by car (109 km). The countryside is very quiet and remote, it is surrounded by corn fields and a timber cutting plant and ideal for digital detox. There aren't many things happening around, but the hotel (pansion) is located within a small village of traditional bungalows, has a stable with a few horses and goats, and a traditional restaurant by the big pond with hungry eels. The rooms in the main building were very clean, the staff were very polite and helpful - particularly, Milena at the reception who guided me and spoke in very good English. Towels were changed daily, and tea and instant coffee 3-in-1 were provided daily. TV channels were all in Serbian and the staff were mainly native Serbian speakers. The restaurant has dedicated menu package for pansion clients, and a different menu for people from bungalows. The menu has good traditional varieties and the food is tasty. The hotel has a swimming pool for extra charge (17 Euros/room/day). Overall, it was a nice Serbian getaway.

Plenty of smokers in the hotel and inside the restaurant - smoking is not strictly prohibited and is widely acceptable. All the rooms had single beds only (no doubles), and the beds were squeaky. We had to check other rooms, and were kindly offered the least squeaky beds. The electrical kettles in every room were plastic and produced unbearable taste, even after thorough washing. The management really needs to look into replacing those.
