We had a wonderful holiday in Avola. Clean apartment, with everything you need, towels, washing machine. The air conditioning in one of the bedrooms did not work 🙈, although they tried to fix it, it was not solved during our stay, I managed with a small fan, there is also a larger fan in the kitchen. The location is very close to the central area, where you can enjoy a typical Sicilian breakfast in the morning, a good coffee, terraces, pizzerias, in the area you can also find a grocery store, fish shop, bakeries, Coop supermarket not far away. We also had beach umbrellas at the location that we could use. It takes about 20 minutes to walk to the beach (Pantanello Beach), we went with a stroller and a 4-year-old child, to shower, in the morning, it is what it is, but on the way back, at 12/13 it was very hot (mid-June), without shade on the way. Thank you for your collaboration to Salvatore and Corrado, we hope to see you again, I highly recommend this accommodation to everyone.

One of the air conditioning did not work

We had a pleasant stay here. The apartment offers good value for money. The host was very friendly, showed us everything in the apartment, and responded quickly to our questions. The location is convenient, close to the city center (though the town itself is small). The apartment was clean, as were the bed linen and towels. There’s a veranda with a canopy, a table, two chairs, and a clothes dryer, as well as a narrow balcony. The apartment has two rooms and two air conditioners — which are absolutely necessary in summer, as it’s impossible to stay inside comfortably even with just a fan.

The building entrance is shared with at least one office (a law firm). The entrance door usually closes only on a latch (although it can be locked properly), which doesn’t feel very secure. The apartment door itself has just a simple lock with a wide gap, and sometimes it’s difficult to turn the key properly. Some of the interior doors also don’t close well because the latches barely reach the frames. The biggest issue for us was noise. The windows have external rolling shutters, which may help against break-ins but provide almost no sound insulation. The double wooden windows inside also block noise very little. As a result, it was difficult to sleep, even with earplugs. This is especially relevant because there is a lot of traffic under the windows (cars and motorcycles until late at night, sometimes until 01–02:00). At the back of the building there is also a courtyard where music and singing can often be heard until late. The kitchen gets quite hot, although two fans help somewhat. There is a washing machine upstairs, but it is very small, so washing larger loads like towels and bed linen takes several rounds. There is also only one drying rack, which makes laundry a bit inconvenient. We also noticed ants in the apartment — on the balcony, in the kitchen, and occasionally inside. The host mentioned the issue had been solved, but in reality, it’s still present (though not critical). In general, the apartment is equipped on a very basic level. The shower doesn’t have a holder at head height, so you need to hold it by hand. There aren’t enough hooks for towels. Slippers are not provided, and the floor gets sandy easily, which means the sand ends up in bed too. In the kitchen there are only a few essentials — no paper towels, no tea/coffee/sugar/spices (only a bit of black pepper and old salt). We had to buy some basics ourselves.
