Elaia Hotel

The location, the kindness of the owner, the breakfast. It’s the 2nd time I stay here and it’s always a pleasure.

Elaia Hotel is a charmingly renovated old house in a very village-y part of Bergama. The location was perfect - a short walk from the centre of town, and not too far from either the Asclepion or the Acropolis (we walked to both), but quiet and relaxing. The room was lovely and comfortable, very tastefully decorated and had nice views. The breakfast was also very nice, we certainly didn't need lunch afterwards! Owner Vedat was super welcoming and helpful and it was really nice to chat to him in the evening. Thanks Vedat :-)

If I had to be very picky I would say I would have liked the room to be darker in the morning (thicker curtains?), but this is a matter of personal preference and certainly didn't prevent us from sleeping really well - you'll want to be up early to visit the archaeological sites anyway!

Vedat is a fantastic host who looked after every need, including producing a wonderful Turkish breakfast.

This tiny hotel is just perfect. Great location just a few minutes walk out of the main town in a lovely quiet area. Verdat the host couldn't be more helpful, and the breakfast is amazing. A wonderful place to stay.
