Convenient location and easy access to many lovely places to visit!

The hostess was very friendly and helpful. She gave us information on several wonderful places to visit. We could easily access public transportation into the city centre and the nearby village of Valkenberg. Liked that we were able to put in a bread order for the morning. Apartment contained all the essentials if you want to store food or prepare a meal. Towels and linens were very clean. You will need to make and strip your bed. It is an apartment, not a hotel room. Expectations for your stay were written in a clear way. So expect to clean up after yourself and take out your garbage at the end of your stay. Some of the apartments are on an upper level requiring you to use the stairs, so manage your luggage accordingly. Parking was great.

Friendly, helpful host, clear information provided on the area, great location, apartment had all the necessary kitchen equipment, nice area to sit outside. Good parking facility. Well signposted from the road.

For the price the place was very good value for money. There was nothing outstandingly bad. We did have a car so did not need to try the local transport, but I understand that the location is well served by local busses.

We had an amazing time at Hermes Apartments and would highly recommend staying there.

The Hermes Apartments were a brilliant find. Corrie and Jack were very welcoming and helpful. The location was perfect for the short drive to the Park & Ride Maastricht Nord for the shuttle bus into the city centre for the Andre Rieu concert. It was also very close to the pretty town of Valkenburg, where we wandered around the shops and enjoyed a meal out. The apartment was well equipped, very clean and comfortable with a beautiful outdoor patio space for enjoying our meals and relaxing, facing the well-kept gardens. Although very small, the kitchenette had everything we needed to prepare our meals and wash up afterwards. The bathroom was modern and equipped with all we needed for our stay, with an excellent walk-in shower.

We were self-catering so we found the kitchenette area a little cramped, but we managed very well. The bathroom door was sticking and difficult to close - but we were 5 ladies so that was not such a big problem for us.

Stay away from it if you’re a family with small kids!

Horrible experience for families with kids! the owners turned off the heating for half of the night and the temperature dropped to 16-17 degrees! there was also no carpet in the room, so it was impossible to keep our baby in his cot. also, if you got out of bed during the night, your feet will freeze. We asked twice to keep the heating on, but he got all sorts of excuses that this can’t be done. Apart from that, the owner asks to put the bed linen by yourself, remove these at check out and take out the garbage. Then what is the service and added value they provide for quite a big cost/night, that differentiate them from a cheap motel?! We found none! Maybe worth mentioning all this extra work the guests have to do by themselves in the automatic message you get after reservation, so that one can cancel it if not ok for them. Not to mention that the owner will try to make a justification and put the blame on the guest, rather that showing some hospitality!

I paid up front with Booking,com and thought that I had covered the cost of my stay. However, on arrival I was asked to pay a further 40 Euros for my 3 night stay. This was not clear upon booking and I would prefer pay in full through Booking rather than incur an extra payment at any time.

The surrounding was nice and the balcony gives a nice view. There is a nice place outside to sit and play. There is a kitchen in the appartment. There is a fan, for when the appartment gets hot in a warmer day. City center is about 15 min walking only.

Have to make your own bed, even though you pay quite some money for the bed sheets. . Did not feel welcome. Felt distrusted and doubted from the moment of arrival.

TOO SMALL APARTMENTS This was a very unpleasant experience in my entire Europe stay, the apartment is very small, congested and insufficient place. In the photos the apartment seems to look spacious but it’s way too small. The person gave a paper regarding hygiene and in that they had mention if anyone urinated on bed kindly inform, I felt it odd. The stairs are very very steep and difficult to climb and get down especially with luggages it’s way more difficult. They charge 26Euros for bed linens, better to take your own bed linens. if we don’t use their bed linens, they’ll fine us 50 euros.

For the price we paid it was absolutely fine!

The owner was really friendly and welcoming! Made sure we had everything we needed and was keen for us to have an enjoyable stay!

We were battling against 35 degree heat so it was very hot in the apartment and the window in the bedroom didn’t open, but there was a fan!

The location, close to Valkenburg, with free parking and easy access.

The hospitality. When we announced that we would arrive past midnight the reaction was not very friendly, but the owners were prepared to receive us at the late hour. However, when we did the check-in we were reminded again explicitly about the late hour, which did not make us feel very welcome. We were asked to be as quiet as possible, but still had to make the beds ourselves, and at 03:00 h ours neighbours on both sides came back from their night out and made enough noise to wake us up. Obviously, the sound isolation was not very good. Further, the apartment had a smokey smell, not strong, but noticeable. Also, the double bed was not very wide, which did not improve our sleep quality. To add to the above, on the third day we had to change the bedsheets for hygienic reasons, so we asked for clean sheets for all 4 of us, also to control the situation. When we were given the sheets no mention was made of any additional cost. However, on returning home, I received a message from the accommodation asking me to pay an extra €34 for the two sets of bedsheets. This was an unpleasant surprise, also because by changing the sheets, we were actually helping the accommodation to stay clean. It was in everybody’s interest. In my opinion, this is not the correct way to treat a situation like this. With this policy, guests who by accident end up with somewhat dirty bedsheets may not mention anything, in order to avoid additional costs, thereby worsening the situation for the accommodation. It was not very hospitable to act in this way.

Perfect for stays in the Maastricht / Valkenburg area!

The location is very good - close to both Maastricht and Valkenburg. Hosts are very good in their attention and flexibility. The apartment is small but accommodating with separate (small) bedroom, bathroom and salon w small integrated kitchen. Cleanliness is outstanding - no carpet on the floor =). Freedom of access is a plus, also plenty of parking space.

Guests are expected to take care of putting on the bedsheets themselves and also take them off at time of leaving. It's really not too bad but we weren't expecting it. Aloso heating system could improve (a bit too cold).

Prima prijs/kwaliteit verhouding!!

Zeer vriendelijke eigenaren! Helpen daar waar nodig, weten veel van wat er te doen is in de omgeving. Grote parkeerplaats achter het gebouw. Goede bedden, prima (slaap-)bank. Een ietwat klein, maar prima keukenblok, fijne douche, tv. Voldoende toiletpapier, handwash en hair/douchegel. Vrij groot terras/balkon. 10 min lopen naar het casino en in een minuut of 20 en sta je midden in Valkenburg (heuvel af, terug een half uurtje)

De indeling vonden wij (!!) ietwat vreemd, maar dat kun je de eigenaren niet aanrekenen, dat ligt meer aan ons gebrek aan oriëntatie,. Verbouwen kost een hoop geld en beetje bij beetje wordt de boel gerenoveerd.

* die Hilfsbereitschaft und der nette Kontakt von Inge und Michel * der Brötchenservice * so viel Ausstattung auf diesem "kleinen" Raum hätte ich nicht erwartet

Leider darf in diesen Nichtraucherzimmern auf dem Balkon geraucht werden. Man sitzt quasi nebeneinander und der Rauch zieht rüber. Und nicht nur das, sondern dann leider auch ins Zimmer. Und wenn man Pech hat, dann sind es nicht "nur" normale Zigaretten, sondern jemand der Zigarillos rauchte. Das war sehr unangenehm. Rauchen sollte nur unten im Garten erlaubt werden!

Wij kregen de appartement in de tuin met 2 Slaapkamers. Prima met badkamer en mooi uitzicht en terras. Kleine keuken ook prima Locatie vlakbij Maastricht en Valkenburg is top voor uitjes en wielrennen
