We liked absolutely everything. I think Kyra Vintage House was the nicest place I have ever stayed in and the family was really kind and helpful. I collect vintage things, so the fact that the house was full of them, and beautifully preserved, was of course a bonus. But it was a beautiful house in a beautiful place, with a lovely terrace we could eat out on, and the rooms were fantastic. There was a really sweet and friendly little grey cat that came to see us, and we left some cat snacks for her in the kitchen cupboard for if she comes to visit you! And the kitchen especially was a 'time warp'. The house had been built by the current owner's father in the 1930s, and I assume the decor was as it had been when he lived in it (the current owner lives downstairs and the apartment we rented is upstairs). The people were also fantastically kind - at one point I suffered a 'medical emergency', and not only did they fetch me a chair and help me recover until I could be helped upstairs, but they also checked my blood pressure too. They also gave us cookies, fresh eggs from their own chickens, oranges (from the orchard) and loquat fruit, there were quite a few very nice beers in the fridge, and they came up to help us late at night when I rather stupidly threw the electrical trip switch by connecting the kettle and the hair dryer to the same extension lead! Really, I can't see how a stay could have been nicer.
